His Private Chef (by Amycee) novel Chapter 113

Chapter 113

He wasn’t trying to impress anyone. He was just Jasoncool, witty, completely unfiltered, and the fans loved every second of it.

You didn’t tell me Jason was hilarious, one commenter wrote.

They weren’t wrong. The show was a hit. Jason had played his part without missing a beat.

Which meant it was time for me to keep my end of the deal.

I drove to Liam’s office that afternoon in a green dress he liked.

Just tempting enough to make him look twice.

Plain enough to pretend it wasn’t on purpose.

Lunch was packed in a brown paper bag with a handwritten note taped to the side.

His secretary smiled and waved me through without a word.

He was pacing behind his desk, tie loosened, frown carved deep into his brow.

Then his eyes found me.

The change was immediate. His entire face lit up like someone had flipped a switch inside him. That dress,he said, crossing the room in three long strides. Is distracting. In the best way.

I raised an eyebrow. Easy, Mr. Black. I’m here to feed you, not feed your fantasies.

He smirked, pulling me close. I missed you.

I saw you this morning.

Still not enough.

His hand slid to my waist.

I tapped his chest. Slow down. This bag has lunch. Real lunch.

Too late. The only thing on my mind now is finding an excuse to keep you in this office a little longer.

I leaned in, whispering near his car, Tempting. But you’ll have to earn it.

He groaned, eyes dropping to my lips. How?

Call Jason. Say something nonhostile.

His jaw clenched. If Jay weren’t family, I’d have banned him from every building I own.

I smiled sweetly. He made my fans cry from laughter. You’ll survive one phone call.

He muttered something under his breath, then pulled me onto his lap. Fine. I’ll call him. But only because you’ve clearly got me wrapped around your finger.

Your staff might walk in and find you like this.

Trust me. No one walks in here without permission.

I fed him lunch one spoon at a time, grinning like an idiot every time he moaned in appreciation.

In between bites, he brushed crumbs from my lips. I kissed his knuckles.

By the way,he said, wiping his mouth with a napkin. Let’s get out of here. Just us. One full week.

My eyes widened. Seriously?

I’m overdue for time off. And you deserve the world.

Where?

Anywhere. You pick.

Paris?

If that’s what

you

want.

Or maybe Morocco.

He nodded. Done.

Or Tokyo?

He chuckled. Then I’ll start looking.

We were middebate between Santorini and the Amalfi Coast when a knock came at the door.

Then his secretary stepped in.

Mr. Black. I’m sorry to interrupt. ButCassic Scott is here. She’s refusing to leave. Says it’s urgent.

Liam stiffened.

His hand found mine beneath the table. Do you want me to send her away?

I shook my head, lips tight. Let her in.

Seconds later, the door swung open, and she stepped inside.

Hair perfect. Lipstick bold. Eyes gleaming with a kind of pleasure that didn’t belong in a room like this.

Oh, good,Cassie said, smiling at me. You’re here. You might want to hear what I’m about to

say.

Liam’s jaw tightened. Say it and leave.

Cassie tilted her head.

No need for formalities, she said coolly. I’ll get straight to the point, then.

Her hand slid to her stomach.
