Chapter 77
Confused, I reached for it, still half–dazed. I opened my lock screen and blinked
A screenshot of a gossip blog post. Headline: Liam Black and Mystery Girl Identified – Meet Emily Davis, the Woman Who Just Broke the Internet.
Below it? Thousands of shares, comments, and fan threads. Some defending me. Some tearing me apart. But all agreeing on one thing:
I was no longer a mystery.
And Liam had made damn sure the world knew exactly where I stood.
The grin on Liam’s face didn’t fade the entire morning. It stretched from cheek to cheek like he’d won some silent victory, and even as we sat at the breakfast table, he kept flashing me smug little looks over his coffee mug.
“You know that look is annoying, right?” I said, reaching for my phone beside the toast.
He didn’t respond, just grinned wider.
My phone buzzed with yet another notification. I tapped it and my mouth dropped.
“Oh my God.”
Liam raised a brow. “What now?”
I held up my screen. “I gained over two hundred thousand followers overnight. I’m at nine hundred and forty–something thousand now.”
He leaned in to look. “Huh. Almost a million. LA’s new It Girl.”

I nudged his arm. “Liam.”

“Why is it suddenly going crazy again?” I asked, unlocking it.
Then I saw it.
Jay had dropped the music video. The one where I was the vixen. The one that felt like a fever dream now.
“No,” I whispered. “He did not.”
Liam leaned closer. “What…”
“Jay released the video!”
His eyes genius.”
widened for a second before amusement took over. “Oh, that timing is actually
I scrolled through comments.
“So this is how you catch billionaires. Please open a masterclass, sis.”
“Not Emily breaking the internet twice in one week.”
“She dumped Mason mid–tour and came back to Liam. I stan.”
“That video. That kiss. The dress. She’s LA royalty now.”
I groaned. “I’m going to strangle Jay.”
Liam laughed. “He’s milking the moment. Honestly, from a business standpoint, it’s perfect.”
I gave him a look. “Whose side are you on again?”
“Yours. Always,” he said, leaning in for a quick kiss. “But also…. his timing is top–tier.”
I stood. “I’m going to Jay’s. I need to drag his cars.
“Be gentle with him,” Liam said, grabbing his phone. “He did make you go viral.”
I rolled my eyes.
