His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 129

Life in Yuria was calm, uneventful, and pleasantly unhurried.

After settling down here, Lumina decided to leave behind her old, fast-paced job and found work at a small florist just a short walk from home.

The shop was run by a plump, cheerful woman named Barbara, whose round face radiated warmth and whose clothes always carried the earthy scent of soil and plant food.

At first glance, Barbara seemed a bit rough around the edges, but in truth, she was meticulous to a fault. Every single flower had to be arranged just so, and she had no patience for mistakes.

Lumina got scolded more than once, but if she excelled at anything, it was patience and a willingness to learn. In just three weeks, she not only mastered the basics—display, pruning, and wrapping—but also picked up simple floral arrangement techniques and the essentials of flower design.

Her craftsmanship was impressive, and her careful attention to detail, along with her keen eye, quickly made her a favorite. The shop’s customers started to increase; some even came in just for her, insisting she be the one to arrange and wrap their bouquets.

The shop hours were easy: ten in the morning until half past three in the afternoon. Compared to Nadia, who was always buried in her studies, Lumina found herself with plenty of free time.

She used it to go for regular prenatal checkups at a nearby clinic.

The doctor who usually saw her was Wendy, a middle-aged woman with blonde hair and an easy smile. At Lumina’s first appointment, as Wendy looked over her file, she asked if Lumina and her husband were still intimate during these first three months of pregnancy.

Lumina nodded, a little embarrassed.

Wendy just smiled knowingly and said, “It’s really best to take it easy in the first trimester. Tell your husband to show a little restraint. If you really can’t help yourselves, just don’t go overboard, all right?”

The way Wendy spoke so bluntly about bedroom matters left Lumina a bit flushed. She just managed a quiet, “Okay.”

As the check-ups became routine, Lumina started bringing Wendy a small bouquet of flowers each time, always a different arrangement of her own making.

Wendy grew fond of her, and their conversations each visit became a little longer, a little warmer.

This time, Wendy commented offhandedly, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen your husband come with you.”

Lumina’s fingers tightened around the papers she was holding, but she answered with a gentle smile, “He’s been busy with work.”

Before she knew it, Lumina had been in Yuria for almost a month.

Her wages barely covered the rent, and everything else—food, clothes, the little odds and ends—cost even more.
