His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 6

Cedric’s cool gaze swept over the two of them, his grip tightening around the phone until the veins on his hand stood out.

“So, that’s your natural scent?” Jurgen let out a low chuckle, taking a slow, deliberate breath as his eyes drifted toward the open collar of her blouse.

Meeting those brazen, lustful eyes, Lumina had half a mind to stab him in the nostril with her fountain pen.

Her smile faded inch by inch, her voice dropping to a dangerous calm. “What’s wrong, Mr. Harding? Didn’t your eighteen girlfriends keep you entertained?”

He laughed, low and unashamed. “They’re nothing like you.”

Jurgen couldn’t resist. He reached out and grabbed her wrist. “How about being my nineteenth? Would you like that?”

It was so absurd, so revolting, Lumina felt her breakfast threaten to come back up.

Yet she remained remarkably composed. “This is a conference room, Mr. Harding. Are you planning to take me right here?”

She tossed out the line so smoothly and coolly, it made Jurgen’s throat go dry. He licked his lips, barely restraining himself. “I’m staying at the Moonstar Hotel. Why don’t you come to my room tonight? We can… get better acquainted.”

Lumina arched a brow, a crescent smile curving her lips. “What a shame. I have dinner plans with Mr. Royce tonight.”

A clear reminder—she belonged to Cedric. Someone like Jurgen was out of his depth.

“Oh, really?” Jurgen wasn’t about to let it go. His finger traced the back of her hand, then slowly pointed toward her flat stomach.

“That’s funny, because I was at the cemetery last night myself. I overheard your little celebration with your brother. My sense of smell may be poor, but my ears are very sharp…”

With a sharp clatter, Lumina’s pen slipped from her hand and hit the table. Her perfectly poised expression shattered, piece by piece, like glass.

Jurgen arched his brows, smug and triumphant. “Tell me, what do you think Cedric would do if he found out about your brother’s little… reincarnation? Would he still let you see him?”

A buzzing filled Lumina’s ears. She clenched her fists, voice trembling with fury. “Jurgen, are you threatening me?”

Her fierce, defiant glare only made him more eager.

“Tonight. Moonstar Hotel, room 1001. Give me what I want, and I promise this secret stays between us.”
