I Made $900 Trillion In 24 Hours novel Chapter 11

“Take it easy, that's painful,” Barnes groaned as his wife tended to his busted jaws.

His wife hissed as she removed the ice bag from his jaw. “How could you let your tenant hit you that hard? And Barry for that matter.”

“I didn't expect such a reaction from the kid,” Barnes barked, feeling humiliated at being punched by his tenant.

“I can't believe you'll let that bastard get away with it,” his wife ranted. “You're a disgrace if you allow Barry to walk freely around without fixing him.”

Barnes knew his wife would talk about this for weeks. She would definitely gossip to her friends and her friends would in turn tell their husbands.

Soon, word would circulate and Barnes would end up becoming a laughingstock.

His other tenants won't respect nor fear him.

If Barry, a nobody could punch him and get away with it, the other tenants could feel the need to do the same when Barnes demands for his rent money.

No, he can't allow that. No matter what, he must find Barry and make an example of him.

Barnes clenched his hands into fists until his knuckles turned white. “Just you wait, Barry. When I get my hands on you, I'll crush you to dusts. This isn't over yet.”

Just then, a knock fell on the door and a man rushed in. It was one of Barnes tenants.

“Mr. Barnes,” the man called frantically as he rushed into the room. “Barry is back at the apartment. He's requested to see you right now.”

Barnes and his wife were stricken with shock.

“He's back already?” Barnes gaped as he struggled to his feet.

“The nerve of him to show his face again,” Barnes wife turned to him. “This is a good opportunity. Round up the boys and give that piece of garbage a thorough beat down he would never recover from.”

Fueled by his wife's words, Barnes stormed out of his house and went around gathering five able-bodied men.

Together, they all marched towards Barnes block of apartment.

When Barnes arrived at his building, he was surprised to find all his tenants evacuating the building.

His bravado faltered as he watched the scene confused.

“Hey, what's going on here?” Barnes demanded as he approached his tenants. “Why is everyone evacuating my house?”

“We were paid to evacuate the building,” one of them replied.

Barnes eyes widened. “Paid to evacuate my house? By whom?”

“Some men came here with Barry,” another tenant, a middle-aged woman answered. “They gave us money and a warning to evacuate the building within an hour then they left.”

Barnes couldn't believe his ears. “Who the hell are these men? How much did they pay you all?”

The woman grinned. “Can you believe it? They paid us each $250,000 in cash. That's more money than I could make in two years.”

Barnes gasped in shock.

That was the same amount he sold Snow for and now all his tenants have an equal amount each.

Barnes had twenty tenants. Someone had just shared $5 million among his tenants just to taunt him.

“Where the hell is Barry?” Barnes barked, his voice shaking. “Tell me where he is.”
