Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 107

She’d never really been a mom to them—not even for a single day. Now, she just wanted to make up for lost time, to give her two little ones all the love she should’ve given them from the start.

Clive didn’t get in her way.

While Amelia’s healthy meal was still simmering on the stove, two Michelin-starred chefs showed up at the door with the food Clive had ordered.

“Amelia, I picked out all your favorites,” Clive said, sounding thoughtful.

Amelia just glanced at the dishes. The truth was, these weren’t her favorites—they were his.

The old Amelia would’ve always put what he liked above her own tastes.

Not anymore.

She didn’t bother to correct him, though. There wouldn’t be many more dinners like this between them anyway.

They sat down together at the table.

Amelia could feel Clive sneaking glances at her, clearly wanting to say something. She waited him out.

Finally, he got to the point. “Amelia, didn’t you do some research on Alzheimer’s when you were in college?”

She kept her expression neutral. “Yeah, I did. Why?”

“Now that Ryan has bought West Medicine, that’s the area he’s most interested in developing.” Clive sounded almost excited, putting his fork down and fixing her with a serious look. “Amelia, I need you to put together a research proposal this week—something that’ll really impress Mr. Ryan Packman. You can do that, right?”

He was so sure she’d never say no to him.

Sure enough, Amelia set down her spoon, looked up, and smiled calmly. “Of course.”

Clive let out a breath he’d been holding, a smile blooming on his face. “My Amelia never lets me down.”

He had those deep, soulful eyes. No wonder she used to believe, even for a second, that he really loved her.

“But, Clive, I have a condition…” Amelia gently pulled her hand out of his, then set it softly on top of his.
