Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 110

That night, Amelia barely left Penny’s side. She coaxed her into taking her medicine, wiped her down over and over, and didn’t stop fussing until almost three in the morning. Only then did Penny’s fever finally fade, leaving her cheeks with a healthy flush.

After checking Penny’s pulse to be sure the worst had passed, Amelia dragged her exhausted self back to her bedroom.

She glanced at her phone. There was a message from Clive—sent three hours ago—letting her know he’d be staying at the Salmeron family estate tonight and wouldn’t be home. Amelia didn’t even bother replying.

Another notification popped up: a new friend request on her messaging app. When she opened it, she saw it was two hours old. The account looked brand new, just the default gray avatar and the username “Self-Rescue.”

Amelia recalled that Diana had mentioned earlier that day she’d made a new account and would add her later. This had to be her.

She accepted the request. Instantly, a message appeared: Still up?

Amelia replied: About to go to bed. You should rest too. Good night.

She added two heart emojis for good measure.

Diana’s chat showed “typing,” but after a few minutes, nothing else came through. She was probably busy filming. Amelia didn’t wait any longer and went to shower.

When she came back, her phone buzzed with a simple “Good night” from Diana.

Before turning in, Amelia peeked into the kids’ room. She found that Penny had somehow made her way into Timmy’s bed, the twins fast asleep, holding hands.

The sight made her heart melt.

The next morning, Amelia woke up later than usual. As soon as she stepped out of her room, the smell of breakfast filled the air. The new housekeeper—personally picked by Clive’s mom—had already arrived and was bustling around the kitchen. Timmy and Penny were at the table, eating.

Seeing the color back in Penny’s cheeks, Amelia finally felt at ease.

“Good morning, ma’am,” the housekeeper greeted her, beaming. She was a round-faced, friendly woman Amelia remembered seeing in Clive’s mother’s garden.

“Donna,” Amelia said, smiling back.

With Donna around, Amelia could finally relax about going back to work tomorrow.
