Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 243

He didn’t notice that just across the street, Amelia’s slim figure was making her way to the entrance of Andrew’s law firm.

She pushed open the door and walked right in.

Amelia headed straight for the front desk. “Hi, I’m Amelia. I have a five o’clock appointment with Andrew.”

“One moment, please.” The receptionist made a quick call, then smiled politely. “Andrew’s last meeting is running late. Would you mind waiting over there for a bit?”

“Sure.” Amelia took a seat on the sofa in the lounge. The receptionist brought over a glass of water and some snacks.

“Thank you.” Amelia took a slow sip, her eyes drifting to a magazine rack nearby. On the cover of one of the law journals was Andrew himself.

— The Unbeaten Star Attorney.

She picked up the magazine, studying the photo.

Andrew looked to be in his early thirties, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit, every detail immaculate. Thin gold-rimmed glasses rested on his sharp nose. With those single-lidded eyes under strong brows, he looked both smart and intimidating.

Even in print, you could feel the powerful energy he carried.

While she flipped through the article, the clicking of high heels echoed down the stairs. Amelia automatically looked up, catching a hint of spicy-cool perfume in the air—pink pepper, sea salt, and a touch of jasmine.

A woman appeared, dressed in a fitted black dress and heels, tall and elegant. A silk scarf wrapped around her face and huge sunglasses hid her eyes, but just from her figure and the way she carried herself, you could tell she was stunning.

Amelia couldn’t shake the feeling that the woman glanced her way behind those sunglasses.

Without stopping, the woman adjusted her shades and walked out.

A black car was waiting outside. She got in, and it pulled away immediately.

“Ms. Sadinton, you can head up now,” the receptionist called.

“Thank you.”
