Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 59

Every single department reported losses—no exceptions.

The boardroom was dead silent. Nobody even dared to breathe, and sweat trickled down necks, hidden by crisp collars.

A butterfly landed softly on the table, its wings barely making a sound.

Ryan looked up, gaze cool and unhurried. “This is last year’s revenue for each department. I want to hear your explanations.”

The silence deepened. After a few tense seconds, the head of Marketing, sitting to Ryan’s right, finally cleared his throat and stammered, “Mr. Packman, I’ve already passed the goals down to my team. It’s just that my people—”

Ryan let out a low chuckle, raising an eyebrow. He was already good-looking, but that smile made him dangerously attractive.

He stood up, and the pressure in the room doubled. His presence was overwhelming.

As Ryan walked over, the Marketing head went pale.

Ryan’s hand landed on his shoulder. The man, nearly fifty, actually flinched.

“Mr… Mr. Packman—”

Ryan’s face was blank, voice cold. “I asked you for an explanation, and you’re blaming your team? You make seven figures—maybe you want to split your paycheck with them?”

From the corner, Nathan, half-lying on a sofa with his phone, suddenly snorted with laughter.

He quickly slapped a hand over his mouth and knelt on the sofa, pretending to apologize.

Nathan’s older brother Aaron had wasted no time dragging him back from overseas as soon as Ryan returned to the country. Officially, it was so Nathan could “learn from Ryan.” In reality, Aaron just knew Nathan was terrified of Ryan and wanted someone to keep him in line. Of course, there were business perks to having Nathan around too.
