“Amelia!” Clive snapped, his voice sharp with irritation. Disappointment clouded his eyes. “Caroline is my sister. She’s your sister too, remember?”

Amelia couldn’t help but think, No way the Sadinton family could’ve raised someone as spoiled and mean as Caroline.

“Aurora Games dropping Caroline’s company? That has nothing to do with me.” She gave a dry, sarcastic smile. “I spent five years in a coma, Clive. I’m not exactly powerful enough to sway one of the world’s top gaming companies.”

Clive fixed her with a cold stare. “Maybe not you, but Diana does. John, the head of Aurora Games’ review team, is a huge Diana fan. Just because Caroline posted a video of you, you’re going to retaliate like this? Amelia, when did you get so cruel?”

He looked at her like she’d just committed a crime.

But Caroline had secretly filmed her—and posted it just to make Amelia the punchline of Alson Creek’s elite. To Clive, that was just a minor thing. Typical double standard.

“This isn’t about Diana either,” Amelia said, tired of explaining but not willing to let Diana take the fall. “You know how she is—she owns up to everything she does. If you don’t believe me, call her and ask. Her number is—”

She didn’t even get to finish before Clive’s phone rang.

He glanced at the screen and answered, “Dad?”

Amelia couldn’t make out what was said, but Clive’s expression changed instantly.

“You’re sure?” he asked quietly. “I’ll be right there.”

He hung up, and before leaving, threw one last judgment her way.

“Bottom line, you went too far today—as Caroline’s sister-in-law, you should know better. Go apologize to her. Don’t make this harder than it has to be.”

He turned to leave, striding toward the terrace doors. But before he could step outside, Amelia spoke up.
