Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 96

On her way to the aquarium, Amelia called Mrs. Salmeron to share the good news—her eyesight was finally back to normal.

The old lady sounded overjoyed. “Oh, bless the heavens! My precious granddaughter-in-law is truly a lucky girl!”

Amelia’s smile was faint, tinged with bitterness. If she were really so lucky, would she have ended up marrying Clive and living through all that pain? Still, she’d never say any of this to Mrs. Salmeron. In the whole Salmeron family, the old lady was the only one who had ever genuinely cared for her.

“Grandma, I’m going back to work on Monday. The kids will need a new nanny at home. Could you help me find someone? Just someone to cook and keep an eye on them.”

“Of course, sweetheart. I’ll have Tara pick out someone capable from my place and send her right over,” Mrs. Salmeron promised warmly. “Amelia, are you home right now?”

“I’m actually on my way to the aquarium...” Amelia answered honestly.

Just then, Tara handed her an iPad. Penny had sent a photo of herself, Timmy, and Clive standing at the aquarium entrance. Penny looked like a little princess, and Timmy couldn’t have looked more handsome.

Clive stood beside them, dressed down and ridiculously good-looking, smiling gently at the camera.

Penny’s message read: “Great-grandma, we’re out having fun!”

Mrs. Salmeron couldn’t help but beam at the sight of her two adorable great-grandkids. The way she looked at that photo was pure love.

It was obvious—Amelia must be on her way to meet them.

The old lady finally relaxed. She’d worried that five years in a coma would ruin things between Amelia and Clive, but now she realized she’d been overthinking it.

“Wonderful, wonderful! Go, have a good time,” she said, her voice full of warmth.

Amelia was about to explain that she was meeting a friend, but hearing Mrs. Salmeron’s happiness, she just let it go.

She smiled. “Grandma, make sure you get some rest and take your medicine. I’ll come by soon to check your pulse, okay?”
