Chapter 194
Valeria responded, “Ms. Lawson, if you have something to say, just say it.”
“You even faked your qualification from Broburgh City College, didn’t you?” Sabrina questioned. She then added coldly, “Valeria, if you want to stay in this industry, keep your
mouth shut about Black Swan.‘
Valeria gave a faint smile. “So that’s what this is all about.”
Sabrina was afraid the truth would come out and ruin her path to becoming a star designer.
“Ms. Lawson, I really don’t get it. Why are you always targeting me?” Valeria asked.
In her three and a half years at L&M, she had no idea what she’d done to offend Sabrina.
Sabrina gritted her teeth and glared at her. She hated Valeria and her raw talent.
She’d been groomed since childhood and studied at the Royal Academy of Design overseas, but somehow, her work always came up short. She couldn’t understand why someone as ordinary as Valeria could do what she couldn’t.
She had once taken one of Valeria’s discarded drafts and shown it to Wendy. To her surprise, Wendy was thrilled and full of praise.
The same thing happened with those smaller brand clients.
Sabrina was supposed to be the design director at L&M, but her proposals were constantly rejected.
Even Nathan treated her like she was just there to kill time, as if she would never design anything worth noticing.
And it was all because Valeria was too talented.
“Valeria, you do realize Nathan is my cousin, right? Even if Kayla’s on your side, with just one word from me, you’ll never make it in this industry,” Sabrina remarked.
Valeria simply shrugged. “Is that all you have to say to me?”
She found it all rather boring. Her calm, indifferent expression only made Sabrina more frustrated.
“Give me the original Black Swan design draft. I’ll write you a recommendation letter and help you land a job at another company,” Sabrina offered.
She wouldn’t feel at ease unless the original was in her hands.
“What are you two talking about?” Kayla walked over with a glass of wine.

Sabrina smiled. “I heard Valeria plans to resign after the New Year. I’ll really miss her.”
“Oh, really?” Kayla didn’t buy it, but she chose not to expose Sabrina. She gently tugged Valeria’s hand. “Come on, let’s go for a sing–along.”
Sabrina watched as Valeria walked away. She had to come up with a way to get the original
draft from her.
That night, the private room was emptied out around 9:30 pm.
Valeria’s phone had been buzzing in her pocket.
Sebastian had texted her, telling her to come to Room 319 once everyone had left.
Everyone had had a few drinks that night, so Valeria stood outside for a bit, letting the cold air
clear her head.
Once she felt more sober, she slipped away from the crowd and knocked on the door of Room
The door cracked open slightly. A damp, well–defined hand reached out from within.
The next moment, that hand caught Valeria by the wrist and pulled her inside.
Valeria’s cheeks were flushed, and she looked stunning. Her eyes widened slightly. “Why… Why aren’t you wearing anything?”
Even if she could guess what was about to happen, showing up in a birthday suit was taking things too far. He could have at least worn something.
