Chapter 100
Raven–Pov
I lowered my head in shame as the elder brought out an old, worn book with yellowed pages, the edges curled and delicate with age. He flipped through it slowly, deliberately, the sound of each page turning echoing around the silent council chamber like a sentence in itself. My heart pounded against my chest, louder with each breath I took, I could feel all eyes on me judging, speculating, condemning
The elder’s voice was gravelly as he finally settled on a page and hegan to read aloud. “Accused: Mald Raven Crime: Suspicion of betrayal against the Alpha. Circumstance: Caught by the Alpha himself, the previous night, sneaking into the pack grounds wearing a black hoodie during curfew. There were no guards present at the border. Suspicion arises regarding her movement and intentions.”
I scoffed slightly at the word maid. After everything I’d been through, was that really all they saw me as? A maid? A lowly servant who didn’t deserve respect or privacy? 1 clenched my fists in frustration, my pride burning behind the shame. The room was so silent, you could hear the wood of my chair creak under my tightening grip.
The elder continued reading, his tone growing sharper, “Given the circumstances, there are only two plausible reasons for a female werewolf to wander out alone in the dead of night. One–she is a night slut. Two–she is a traitor.”
“No!” I shouted, my voice piercing the silence like a dagger. The word escaped my lips before I could stop it. I felt the heat of dozens of stares land squarely on me, a mix of curiosity and disgust, as whispers broke out among the council members and observers seated behind them.
The elder paused, then looked at me with narrowed eyes. “Then speak, girl. Tell us what exactly you were doing out at that hour if you aren’t what this

Topened my mouth, but nothing came out. What was supposed to say? How could I explain to a room full of judgmental elders and biased wolves that had snuck out to meet a witch from my old pack? That I was trying to break a spell Luna Olivia had cast on Alpha Ethan! That the woman who had stolen my mate no, who was never supposed to be his mate, was my half–sister? My wolf growled inside me.
Sister? She corrected. Half–sister.
Not now,
I hissed back mentally.
Speak… or can’t you? Came another voice, cold and cutting Alpha Ethan’s voice, snapping me back into the suffocating present.
“I–I just love the dark,” I stammered, my voice almost inaudible. “The night. It calms me…
Before I could continue, a roar filled the chamber, “Liar!” Alpha Etgan shouted from across the room. “You’re a fucking lar His eyes burned into me with unfiltered rage and disappointment, and for a moment, my breath caught in my throat. “You think I believe that pathetic excuse? That you love the night? Do you take me for a fool!”
My lips quivered, but before I could speak again, Beta Matthew stood from his seat. “Maybe she’s telling the truth,” he said, calm but fi
Alpha Ethan’s head snapped toward him. “What did you say?”
“I said, maybe she’s being honest. We don’t know all the facts. Shouldn’t we investigate before branding her a traitor?”
Alpha Ethan’s face contorted with anger, “Oh, right. Of course, you’d defend her. Maybe she snuck out so the two of you could finally fuck in peace without anyone interrupting!”
A wave of gasps rippled through the chamber. I felt like I had been stabbed. My mouth fell open as a fresh wave of shame and humiliation gulfed me.
Matthew’s jaw clenched. His calm demeanor shattered in an instant. “You think everyone’s as vile as you, Ethan?” he snapped. “You think wi power to dominate and ruin the lives of those weaker than us? You think that just because you can do something means it’s the truth?”
“Are you threatening me, Matthew?” Ethan prowled, stepping forward.
“No,” Matthew replied, stepping up too. “I’m promising you that your actions will catch up to you one day”

“Enough!” the elder barked. “Both of you. You disgrace the proceedings with your petly personal war. This is not a place for dominance games! This is the Councill
He turned to me, his expression unreadable. As for you, Raven… There is no solid evidence yet. But the suspicion surrounding your actions cannot be ignored either. Therefore, by the authority of this Council, you are to be detained in the pack dungeons while the investigation continues.”
“No,” I whispered. “Please…”
“Let it be known,” the elder continued, ignoring my plea, “that this is a neutral decision. Neither guilty nor innocent has been declared. But until clarity reached, you are not to roam free.”
Two guards stepped forward without hesitation and grabbed me by the arms. I tried to pull away, but it was useless. I wasn’t strong enough, not with my wolf caged by fear and betrayal.
They dragged me toward the exit, and all I could hear were murmurs, whispers of disgust and pity.

“She was always!
“She should never have been allowed into the Alpha’s home.”
“Why didn’t Olivia say anything about her?”
