Mated To The Alpha King (Raven and Ethan) novel Chapter 116

Chapter 116

Raven Por

Tears spilled down my cheeks freely as the guards dragged me out. I could hear the whispers of the pack members low, venomous, and gleeful. Their eyes glinted with hatred, disgust, and something else I couldn’t name.

They looked at me like I was filth, something beneath them. It made my stomach twist in knots, but I held my head high barely

My wrists ached in the firm grip of the guards. They didn’t even try to hide the force in their hold. My feet stumbled along the stone corridor that led to the pack’s punishment grounds.

I had been here before once, when Olivia claimed I stole a ring from her, a lie, Like everything else she’s ever said about me.

The cold moming breeze hit my face as we stepped outside. The field was already filling up with spectator pack members eager for blood. Eager for my

blood.

And then, out of nowhere, a woman brushed past me.

She leaned in, her lips barely moving. Her voice was a whisper, soft as the wind yet sharp enough to pierce through the chaos.

The time is almost near. You will take what belongs to you.

What are you talking about? I asked her, but she didn’t reply. I turned sharply, my heart thundering in my chest.

Wait!I tried to call out, but the guards yanked me forward before I could chase after her. She vanished into the crowd like a ghost, like she was never really there. My Eyes searched for her, frantically. Who was she? What did she mean?

But the grip on my arms tightened, and the guards kept dragging me toward the raised platform in the center of the field. I didn’t know what I feared more the pain, or the shame.

They tied me to the wooden post with thick leather straps, forcing my arms above my head and exposing my back to the crowd,

The sky above looked dull and gray, like it knew something terrible was about to happen. Or maybe it always looked this way whenever they decided to remind me of my place beneath them.

A drum sounded in the distance. Then silence. Everyone was waiting.

And then, he arrived.

Alpha Ethan

My supposed mate

Dressed in his black Alpha coat with silver embroidery, he looked like a god among wolves. His jaw was tight, his expression unreadable as he walked in with Luna Olivia by his side.

Her long dark hair flowed in waves, her smirk smug and satisfied

Her hand curled into Ethan’s arm as if staking a claim, as if she needed to remind me she had what I could never have

I looked at him at Alpha Ethan. For a second, our eyes met. My heart stuttered in my chest, and I searched for something anything in his gare Pay Regret, Guilt. But there was nothing. Just coldness.

He turned away first.

The signal was given.

Chapter 116

The first lash landed on my back with a sharp crack. I screamed before could stop myself. The pain burst through me like fire, slicing through n and bones and straight into my soul.

The second lash came quicker than I expected, I bit down on my bottom lip to muffle the sound, but a whimper escaped anyway. My knees buck the straps held me in place. My body trembled.

Host count quickly. Was that the fourth? The sbth?

Each strike came with renewed anger, peeling back layers of strength I didn’t know I had. My screams echoed across the field, but no one flinched. Ho one cared. They were used to my suffering.

I cursed the Moon Goddess.

Cursed the day she made Alpha Ethans my mate

What kind of twisted fate was that?

Another lash. The tenth maybe?

I couldn’t tell anymore. My hearing was fading, and all I could hear was the distant echo of the whip, the guards counting perhaps at seventeen now?! wasn’t sure. Everything was a blur of pain and darkness.

Maybe Alpha Ethan was right. Maybe i was a waste of space.

My vision swam,

the edges of the world going dark. My knees gave out, and I dangled from the straps, the leather biting into my skin.

I tasted blood in my mouth and realized i’d bitten through my lip

Just as I thought I couldn’t take anymore, I looked up, and there he was.

Bela Matthew.

Standing at the far end of the field, away from the others. His face was unreadable, but his eyes his eyes were full of fire. Of anger. Ofconcern?

He gave me a warm smile, even though it didn’t reach his eyes. I tried to smile back and tried to hold on to something kind, something good, but I couldn’t. My body sagged. The pain became too much.

I gave up.

My head dropped forward as the lashes continued. My body, now limp, simply absorbed the pain like a sponge. My consciousness slipped away like a wave pulling back from the shore. I heard my name once, but I couldn’t answer, I couldn’t even lift my head.

I was falling.

into darkness

Into nothing.

And maybe that was better.

Maybe it was peace.

Maybe

Some time LaterI woke to the sound of muffled voices, my head throbbing like it had been split in two, My back felt like it had been shredded open ang set on fire. Every breath was agony.

I was lying on something cold stone, maybe? No, wood. A wooden floor. I tried to move, but the pain was too much. A soft whisper escaped me
