Chapter 151
Chapter 151
Raven’s POV
I woke up to the sound of running water from the bathroom. My eyes were heavy, and my body was still aching from the previous day’s weight. I groaned and stretched, rolling over before the sound grated too much on my nerves.
Whoever was in there could stay in there for all I cared. My mind was too clouded to deal with anyone first thing in the morning,
I swung my legs over the side of the bed, bare feet hitting the cool floor. My head throbbed lightly, a reminder of my restless night.
Without waiting to see who was behind the sound of the shower, I quietly slipped out of the room and padded down the hall. The air was still cool from the early morning, the faint scent of pine drifting in through the open windows.
By the time I made it back to my own room, the stiffness in my limbs was starting to ease. I shut the door behind me, letting out a slow breath. My training was supposed to start soon, and I needed to clear my head before stepping onto the field.
I peeled off alpha Ethan shirt, letting them fall in a careless heap on the floor, and stepped into my bathroom. The warm spray of water hit my skin, washing away the traces of sleep and fatigue. I closed my eyes, tilting my head back, letting the water run over my face.
Olivia’s threat…
It crept back into my mind like an unwanted shadow. No matter how hard I tried to push it away, it lingered, reminding me that I couldn’t afford to be weak. Not now. I needed to be ready for anything.
I scrubbed myself down quickly, not in the mood to linger. By the time I stepped out, steam clung to my skin, and I wrapped a towel around myself before heading to the closet.
My training gear was neatly folded on the top shelf: fitted black leggings, a sleeveless top, and sturdy boots. I dressed quickly, pulling my hair into a tight ponytail. The uniform was comfortable and functional nothing to distract me from the task ahead.
Once dressed, I grabbed my trimmer and slipped out of the room, heading down to the kitchen. The halls were starting to stir, with life guards moving to their posts and maids hurrying to finish their morning duties.
In the kitchen, the scent of freshly baked bread filled the air. I ignored the food, heading straight for the fridge to grab a bottle of water. My stomach wasn’t in the mood for breakfast.
Bottle in hand, I made my way to the training grounds. The crisp morning air was cool against my skin, and for a moment, I let it fill my lungs, steadying me.
But as soon as I stepped onto the field, my senses picked up something I wasn’t expecting something I recognized immediately.
Alpha Ethan.
His scent was impossible to miss, a mix of cedar and dominance that curled into my mind before I could shove it away.
My chest tightened instinctively, but I ignored the pull of the mate bond and veered toward the far side of the training ground. I had no interest in seeing him, not this morning. If I kept my head down, maybe I could get through this without an unwanted confrontation.
But fate clearly had other plans.
I had just set my water bottle down and was stretching my arms when I heard his voice behind me, low and sharp enough to freeze me mid-
motion.
“Why did you run out this morning?”

Chapter 151
I turned immediately, my body going rigid at the sight of him. He was standing a few feet away, arms crossed, his sharp gaze locked on ime like he could read every thought in my head.
“I didn’t run,” I said, keeping my tone even. “I just realized I was late for training.”
One dark brow arched, “Why are you training?”
I hesitated for only a second. “No reason. I just… want to get to the standard I want for myself.”
His eyes searched mine for something I wasn’t offering. After a moment, he gave a small nod. “Alright. Can I help?”
I stared at him, unsure of his angle. “Sure,” I said finally, keeping my expression guarded.
He stepped forward, closing the distance between us, and we began.
The session started with basic exercises speed drills, agility work, sparring without weapons. His movements were precise and powerful, and I matched him step for step, refusing to give him the satisfaction of seeing me lag. Sweat clung to my skin, my muscles tightening and loosening in rhythm with each motion.
After what felt like hours, he handed me a wooden sword. “Let’s finish with this,” he said.
I froze. I knew my way around a sword better than most. Years of surviving rough streets had sharpened me in ways Ethan couldn’t imagine.
I could take him down if I wanted to right here, right now. Part of me burned for it, remembering every betrayal and every wound he’d
inflicted on me.
But the mate bond… damn that cursed bond. It held me back, pulling my rage into chains.
“This is pointless,” I said at first, lowering the sword. “I don’t want to injure you.”
A smirk tugged at his mouth. “You’re bad at this. Put more effort into it.”
That did it. I laughed a sharp, humorless sound and stepped into position. “Careful what you wish for, Alpha.”
We clashed. The wood cracked against the wood, our movements quick and calculated. I moved like a silent fighter, my strikes precise, my defenses tight. And in the end, I disarmed him, the tip of my sword resting at his chest.
He stood there, stunned. I didn’t give him time to recover.
“Guess I’m not that bad,” I said, lowering the weapon and stepping away.
“That’s enough for today,” he said finally.
I nodded, already turning to leave. “Excuse me.”
Beta Matthew was waiting near the edge of the grounds, his own training had already finished. I walked up to him, wiping the sweati forehead.
