Mated To The Alpha King (Raven and Ethan) novel Chapter 163

Chapter 163

Alpha Ethan’s POV

Go get out, mate.”

My wolf’s voice howled through the hollow corners of my mind, feral and desperate.

He had been restless for hours, pacing, clawing, and snapping at the invisible chains I’d wrapped around his instincts.

She needs you.

I clenched my jaw, ignoring him. My gaze drifted to the clock on my office

ticking echoing in my head like a drum of guilt. Three hours.

Three hours since I sent her to that cage.

Three hours since you tried to break her.

No,I muttered under my breath, shoving the intrusive thought away. She deserved it.”

Did she? My wolf snarled in disagreement, the sound vibrating through my bones. Mate never lied. Mate never betrayed.

A bitter laugh slipped past my lips, sharp and broken. ElisaMy chest constricted at the thought of her name. My sister’s laughter still echoed in these halls, but now it was just a ghostly whisper clawing at my sanity. I couldn’t save her, I failed her. And now Raven.

Don’t say her name like that, my wolf growled, a lethal edge in his tone. She is not Elisa’s killer.

Then why was she there?I shot back in the hollow silence of my office, my hands trembling with suppressed rage or maybe fear. Why was she in the woods that night? Why didn’t she stay where I left her? Why the hell does she keep making me

I cut myself off, dragging a hand through my hair as a sharp pang of something I didn’t want to name tore through me.

I grabbed the glass and downed the whiskey in one brutal gulp, feeling the burn snake down my throat, chasing away the chill that had settled in my

bones.

She’ll survive,I muttered to the empty room, even though the words felt like a lie. She has to.

But the silence that followedwas deafening.

I paced like a caged animal, my boots thudding against the polished wooden floor. Each second stretched, twisted, and turned into an hour. My wolf grew louder, his howls pounding inside my skull like war drums.

Go. Now.

I told you

و

GO!

The roar shattered my last thread of restraint. With a curse, I grabbed my jacket and stormed out of the office, my long strides echoing in the empty corridor as I headed for the dungeons.

The deeper I descended, the colder it became. The air turned damp, heavy with the metallic tang of blood and the faint scent of fear.

My heart kicked against my ribs, hard enough to bruise. My wolf surged forward, thrashing like a beast trying to break free from chains.

When I reached the last staircase, the sight that greeted me froze the breath in my lungs.

The cage door hung open.

Chapter 163

For a split second, my world tilted on its axis. My stomach dropped to the floor, a violent rush of cold dread flooding my veins.

NoMy voice cracked as I stumbled forward, boots splashing into the icy water pooling on the floor of the empty cage My hands gripped the matst bars, the chill biting into my skin. No, no, no-

Where was she?

The water inside the cage reached my knees, freezing, numbing, cruel.

And in that moment, a horrifying image flashed through my mindher pale face beneath the surface, lifeless eyes staring up at me, lips blue, hair floating like ink in water.

Raven! The name tore out of me, raw and desperate, bouncing off the stone walls like an echo of failure.

I yanked the cage door wider and stepped inside, sloshing through the icy water as I searched like a madman, hopingprayingthat she was hiding in a corner, that she hadn’t

She can’t be gone.

My heart thundered against my ribs, savage and merciless. The cold seeped into my bones, but it wasn’t half as bitter as the fear clawing through my

chest.

Where are you?My voice was a rasp now, barely holding together as panic clawed at the edges of my sanity.

A noise behind mea shuffle, boots scuffing against stonemade me spin around with a snarl. Two guards stood at the dungeon entrance, their faces pale, eyes wide.

Where is she?I demanded, my voice cracking like a whip, laced with enough venom to make them flinch.

One of them stammered, AAlphasheBeta Matthewhe cameabout ten minutes ago. Took her. Said she wasn’t breathing right.

For a heartbeat, I went utterly still. Then the red haze descended.

Matthew.

That bastard.

A growl ripped out of my throat, primal and bloodthirsty, echoing through the stone corridor like the roar of a beast unleashed. The guards shrank back, fear stinking off them like smoke.

I didn’t care. I was already moving, my feet pounding against the ground as I stormed out of the dungeon, every muscle in my body coiled tight with fury. My wolf was a hurricane inside me now, howling, snapping, urging me forward.

He touched, mate. He took her.

I’ll kill him,” I snarled under my breath, my fists clenching so hard my knuckles cracked, I’ll rip his damn throat out.

Corridors blurred past as I moved like a storm, my breath coming in harsh bursts, rage boiling under my skin. When I reached Matthew’s door, I didn’t knock. I didn’t hesitate. I slammed it open so hard it crashed against the wall, the sound like a gunshot in the quiet.

And then-

I froze.

There she was.

Raven.

On his bed.

Chapter 1631

Her face was so pale it looked carved from marble, her lips were tinged with blue, and her chest was rising and falling in shallow, fragile breaths. For one gutwrenching second, I thought she was gone. That had been too late.

The world narrowed to a pinpoint, every sound muffled except for the ragged fas

that shredded through my fury like glass.

What the hell is the meaning of this?My voice was a blade, sharp and

with someters that looked like my anger aimed at me.

She was halfconscious when I found her,he shot back, his voice vibrating with anger. If I had been a minute late, she wouldn’t have made it.

His words slammed into me like a punch to the gut. I swallowed hard, my throat burning. That’s none of your damn business,I growled, stepping closer, letting the alpha in me bleed into every word. She’s my mate. I punish her the way I want.”
