I woke up in a place I didn’t know. My eyes stared at the white ceiling above me. Where am I? I whispered to myself, my voice dry and rough. The room smelled like medicine, and for a moment, I thought maybe I was dreaming.
My head hurt badly when I turned it to the side. That’s when I saw the IV tube in my arm and heard the soft beep–beep of a machine next to me. My heart jumped.
Fear grabbed me like cold hands on my back. I tried to sit up, but the dizziness hit me so hard that black spots danced in front of my eyes.
I lay back down, breathing hard, holding the bedsheet with both hands. My mind ran fast, trying to remember what happened.
The club… yes, the music, the lights, the smell of alcohol. Then it hit me. I remembered when I started feeling dizzy, my eyes blurry while the loud music shook my chest, I had gone to serve drink and before I could everything went dark.
And now, I was here.
In a hospital.
Panic filled my chest as many questions ran into my head. How did I get here? Who brought me? Did something happen when I was out? The not knowing made my stomach twist with fear.
Just then, the door opened slowly, and I jumped. A nurse walked in fast.
Her white clothes were clean, and she walked like someone who knew what she was doing. She looked young, maybe twenty five, and she had a nice smile on her face.
“Oh, you’re awake!” she said softly, looking happy as she came close to my bed. “How are you feeling?”
“I…” My voice shook. “I don’t know. Where am I? What happened?”
“You’re at the hospital,” she said gently as she checked the drip in my arm. “You were brought in unconscious a few hours ago. We gave you first aid to wake you up so we can run some tests.”
“Tests?” I asked, frowning in confusion.
“Yes,” she said with another smile. “The doctor wants to make sure you’re okay.”
“I’m fine,” I said quickly, too quickly. Just the thought of tests made my stomach hurt even more. “I don’t need any tests. I only felt dizzy, that’s all.”

“I’m sorry,” the nurse said in a calm but firm voice. “The head doctor said we must run the tests. It’s hospital rules.
Please cooperate, okay?”
I wanted to argue, to tell her I didn’t have time for this, but her voice told me there was no use. With a heavy sigh, I nodded slowly.
“Fine,” I said in a low voice and closed my eyes for a second.
“Good,” she said warmly, like she knew I was upset. “It won’t take long.”
She moved fast, getting everything ready. Soon, she had taken my urine and blood samples. I just watched her, my heart beating fast for reasons I didn’t even understand.
When she finished, she put a small phone on the table beside me.
‘This is yours, right?” she asked.
I nodded.
‘In case you want to call someone,” she said kindly, smiling again before leaving the room.
As soon as the door closed, I grabbed the phone like it was the most important thing in the world. The truth? I had nobody to call.
No family who cared. No friend who would rush over. Still, I held the phone tight and opened social media, scrolling up and down, just so I wouldn’t think too much.
Minutes felt like hours. Every second was slow. My mind kept replaying what happened at the club
over and over.
What if something bad happened to me while I was out? What if someone… I shook my head fast, pushing the thought away.
After what felt like forever, the nurse came back with a smile.
“The doctor wants to see you now,” she said.
My heart beat so fast as I stood up. My legs felt weak, but I followed her down a quiet hallway. Each step sounded loud, like drumbeats in my ears.
Finally, we stopped at a door. She knocked lightly and opened it for me to go
The office smelled like paper and medicine. Behind the desk was an old man, maybe 55 or 60, with gray hair and glasses.
His face looked calm and professional, but something about his eyes made me nervous.

“Please, sit,” he said, pointing to the chair in front of him.
I sat down slowly.
My hands were sweaty. My heart was beating like a bird in a cage.
“So…” I tried to sound calm, but my voice was shaking. “What’s wrong with me?”

The doctor pushed his glasses up and looked at the papers on his desk before looking back at me.
“First, I need to ask you a question,” he said carefully.
I swallowed hard. “Okay…”
