Reven’s Por
Before I could even make out what was happening, Derick carefully placed the baby boy down on the sofa, his movements gentle, protective, like a father who had been waiting his whole life for this moment,
Then, to my utter shock, he slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box.
My heart stopped.
When he dropped down to one knee right there in front of me, my breath caught in my chest.
My eyes widened, my lips parted, but no sound came out. For a long moment, the world felt still just me, him, and the soft glow of the fairy lights filling the living room.
“Raven,” he began, his voice low but steady, carrying a depth of emotion that made my heart quiver. His eyes locked with mine, and I could see the sincerity shining there, clear and unshakable.
“Will you do me the honor, the favor, of being my wife? Will you be my Luna the woman who will rule by my side, not behind me, but beside me until our last breath?”
My heart raced wildly in my chest.
He took a deep breath before continuing, his voice trembling slightly now. “I promise you, Raven, I will never do anything to hurt you. Not now, not ever. For the kids… I accept them as mine. In fact, they can bear my name proudly, because from this day on, they are my children too. Flesh of my heart, spirit of my soul.”
The dam I had been holding back inside me broke.
My hand flew to my chest as I felt the tears I had kept locked away for so long slip free. They streamed down. my cheeks in hot trails, each drop releasing the weight of years of suffering, betrayal, and pain.
My wolf stirred inside me, her voice soft yet firm. “What more do you want, Raven? Look at him. He has everything you once dreamed of but thought you’d never find.
He loves you. He loves your children. He is strong, kind, loyal… He is the perfect mate in all but name. What are you afraid of?”
I trembled as her words echoed in my heart. But fear still clawed at me. My lips parted, and in a weak voice, I whispered, “But… what if one day he finds out about the children’s father? What then?”
My thoughts spiraled, fear gripping me tight, when Derick’s voice suddenly snapped me back to the present.
“If you don’t want me, Raven,” he said quietly, his tone carrying a trace of hurt, “that’s fine. I won’t force you.”
My eyes shot to his instantly, panic surging through me at the thought of losing him. “No!” I burst out, my voice breaking with raw emotion. “No, Derick, don’t say that. You are… you are the perfect partner anyone could ask for. I don’t even know what I would have done without you. And I think-” I paused, my tears falling faster, my chest heaving with the truth I had been too scared to admit. “I think you will be a great dad too. The best father my children could ever have.”

I swallowed hard, then nodded, my voice trembling as I whispered, “Yes… I say yes to your proposal.”
A smile so wide and warm spread across his face that my knees nearly buckled. His eyes shone like the sun breaking through storm clouds. Slowly, with hands that trembled ever so slightly, he slid the ring onto my finger. It fit perfectly, as though it had always been meant for me.
Then, before I could even catch my breath, he leaned in and pressed a warm, tender kiss against my lips. It wasn’t rushed, wasn’t desperate—it was steady, certain, filled with a promise that settled deep in my soul.
When he pulled back, I stared at him, my tears still falling freely. “When… when did you do all this?” I asked, my voice choked with emotion.
He chuckled softly, brushing his thumb against my cheek to wipe away the wetness. “The day before today,” he confessed. “I wanted it to be perfect. And seeing your face right now, I think it is.”
“Everything feels just… perfect,” I whispered, still in disbelief.
His lips curved into a soft smile. “Nothing can be more perfect than you and the kids.”
I broke down again, but this time not out of pain–out of happiness. Real, unshakable happiness.
“Come,” I whispered, glancing at the twins, who stirred faintly in their little makeshift crib. “Help me lay the kids in their room.”
He nodded instantly. Without hesitation, he reached out and carefully carried the baby boy, while I lifted the girl into my arms. Together, step by step, we walked down the hallway to the nursery. The room smelled faintly of fresh paint and soft baby powder. Everything was neatly arranged–the crib, the toys, and the tiny clothes folded perfectly.
We gently laid them down, tucking them in with care. I stood there for a moment, watching their small chests rise and fall, my heart swelling with pride and love.
