Mending a Broken Love (Roxanne and Sebastian) novel Chapter 141

Jack's shop was just a short walk from the theater, barely ten minutes on foot. It wasn't too early or too late at this hour. Most of the other shops on the street were still open, but his place was the only one that had its doors shut.

Jensen noticed a sign hanging on the door with some writing on it. He read it carefully, then turned to Sebastian. "The owner had something come up and closed the shop for a while. No return date listed."

Sebastian's expression darkened. "I can read."

Jensen knew he could read. He was just being a little more attentive because he had taken a billion dollars from him.

But man, with a personality like Sebastian's, how could anyone stand him?

Sebastian turned around and walked off with the ring in his hand. As he left, his eyes flicked briefly to Yasmin sitting in her wheelchair.

Yasmin instantly lowered her head, feeling guilty. She wasn't naive enough to think Sebastian had looked at her out of interest. He probably saw a bit of Roxanne in her, right?

After all, she had been deliberately imitating Roxanne. She knew Roxanne's habits even better than he did. Otherwise, how else could she have ended up buying the exact same dress as Roxanne in a foreign country? It just proved she had studied Roxanne down to the last detail.

She was sure he was mocking her from the way he looked at her. He was mocking her pathetic imitation.

His cold figure disappeared into the car and drove away.

Jensen shrugged. "All that fuss just for a ring?"

Mason gave a soft smile and looked at him meaningfully. "Do you really think Sebastian went through all that just for a ring?"

Jensen shot back, "Then what was it for?"

Roxanne must've completely lost it when she saw that. She had given Sebastian her everything for seven years. And in the end, the ring symbolizing the Hayes family's love and legacy had someone else's name on it—Liana's.

She must have felt like she was pierced straight to the heart by a knife. So yeah, snapping and stealing the ring to sell it was not that shocking.

Mason was speechless. There wasn't much to say to that. He hadn't even looked at the engraving inside the ring.

But in this situation, there was no telling what Roxanne might do.

Sebastian deserved it! How could he play with someone's feelings like that?

Yasmin's delicate fingers tightened around the handles of her wheelchair, her elegant face flashing with a look of panic. She understood now.
