Roxanne smiled, her eyes narrowing. "Where did you buy the ring? When did you get it?"
Jensen mentioned the date and time, and Roxanne felt as if an arrow had pierced her chest. In other words, just as she had sold the ring, Jensen had bought it almost immediately! The corner of her mouth twitched in a strained smile.
Jensen's speed was insane.
Jack had planned to dismantle the ring and turn the big diamond into a pendant. It would look great as a pendant, and at that point, the ring would have nothing to do with the Hayes family's heirloom. Sebastian wouldn't be able to find it.
But she hadn't expected Jensen to be that fast.
Jensen looked at Roxanne, clearly taking pleasure in her discomfort. "So, how did you get the ring?"
Roxanne forced a smile. "What do you think? Do you think I stole it?"
"Oooh…" Jensen intentionally dragged out the last word.
So, Sebastian was the one who gave Roxanne the ring. She saw the initials of Sebastian's and Liana's names engraved on it, got so angry that she ran off to another country, and then she sold the ring. That... was explosive!
Sebastian had an explosive temper, and Roxanne wasn't any better.
But Jensen honestly thought Sebastian's actions were crazy.
If True Love's Heart was meant for Liana, then why did he give Roxanne that ring? He could have given her something else! Twenty-carat, 30-carat, 40-carat diamonds—what did any of them even mean to a guy like Sebastian?
Why did he have to give Roxanne a ring meant for Liana? Wasn't that deliberately provoking Roxanne?
Roxanne was impressive too. She sold the ring representing the position of Mrs. Hayes just like that. What a ruthless woman.
