Liana covered her face, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Roxanne, I know it's my fault. I don't deserve your forgiveness. Since you hate me so much, I'll die to atone for my sins today!"
She immediately stood up after saying that. Then, in one swift movement, she rushed toward the stone pillar next to Sebastian.
Roxanne was stunned. From her angle, Liana seemed to be gathering momentum. It looked like she really was going to crash into the pillar.
However, just as she was about to collide with the pillar, a large hand grabbed her. The next moment, she was caught in Sebastian's arms and firmly held by him.
Sebastian's expression was as dark as thunder, and his voice was hoarse as he growled, "Stop this!"
Liana seemed to completely break down, sobbing uncontrollably in Sebastian's arms.
Roxanne instantly understood what was going on.
Liana really did want to crash into the pillar. There was no doubt about that. But she didn't want to die. Otherwise, why didn't she choose another pillar? There was one pillar near Roxanne, which was much closer to her.
But no, she chose the one farther away that was near Sebastian. Because she knew Sebastian would stop her.
Impressive.
Liana had Sebastian's psychological state nailed down perfectly. Sebastian wouldn't just watch Liana die, especially not after everything with Miles.
Roxanne had to admit that Liana had won again this round. She felt defeated but knew that ultimately, she wasn't as daring as Liana.
