That was the first time she had ever seen Miles and Taylor together. Back then, she had simply assumed they were drunk. Not wanting to intrude, she quietly left. But she had sharp eyes. It was only later that she realized who they were—Miles and Taylor.

One had been Sebastian's personal doctor, now Liana's. The other had been Sebastian's college classmate and personal assistant.

By the time she was old enough to understand, Miles had already passed away in an accident. So, she had never really given much thought to his relationship with Taylor. But earlier, when Taylor mentioned Miles, she had heard something unexpected in his voice.

A slight choke and… resentment?

A sudden thought flashed through her mind, so she decided to test him. And it worked.

Watching Roxanne leave with an unreadable smile, Taylor felt a surge of fury.

There was no way she hadn't figured something out with that look on her face. If she told anyone, it would be a disgrace to Miles. He wouldn't allow it.

A loud crash echoed from the private room.

Roxanne shrugged helplessly not long after she left. "He's that easy to break?"

His dinner with Roxanne had been ruined. And it was not just tonight. Thinking back, it wasn't the first time. There had been so many times just like tonight.

Every time he was with Roxanne, Liana would show up. And every time, for one reason or another, he would leave Roxanne behind. Before, he had never thought much of it. But tonight, it was suddenly all so clear.

While driving Liana to the hospital, he had thought of Roxanne and pictured her sitting in that private room with a completely calm countenance. She wouldn't have been surprised or upset, just… numb. Like she had expected it and was used to it.

Taylor gently pulled the blanket over Liana and turned to Sebastian. "Sebastian, Liana's emotions are unstable. You can't push her too hard. You saw what happened today. Do you really want to drive her to her death?"

Sebastian's cold gaze landed on him. "So, what you're saying is… I was the one who sent her running into the rain?"
