"Okay," Roxanne replied.
She truly felt this matter had nothing to do with her, and it wasn't like she could help. Sebastian could worry about it himself.
Given how much he cared about Liana, there was no way he would let anything happen to her. There was really no need for Roxanne to get involved, so she went upstairs to rest.
Sebastian had been trying to track down Nathaniel, but Nathaniel had been Sebastian's assistant for many years and knew exactly how Sebastian's network operated. He was hiding so well that Sebastian couldn't trace him at all.
Roxanne remained carefree and didn't ask any questions.
…
The next day, she was leisurely sipping coffee at home.
At this point, she was particularly curious. Liana had been abducted, so would Sebastian still have the mind to go through with the engagement?
After all, the party was set for tomorrow, and the invitations had already been sent out.
She was starting to feel like she was watching a show.
At around 3:00 pm, there was finally movement from Nathaniel.
This time, he created a group chat. There were four people in it—Nathaniel, Sebastian, Roxanne, and Taylor.
Nathaniel sent a photo.
In it, Liana was huddled in a corner with disheveled clothes. She looked miserable and helpless. But something seemed off—her condition didn't look right.
However, the lighting was poor, and it was too dark to make things out clearly.
Before Sebastian or Roxanna could react, Taylor exploded.
Roxanne couldn't sit still anymore. After all, she had no faith in Sebastian.
"This has nothing to do with me, right? It's Sebastian who owes you money, and it's him who wants you dead. Go find him! Then, take him out! Don't come after me. We have no feud!" Roxanne texted the group.
As far as she was concerned, her only issue with Nathaniel was that their vibe didn't match. They weren't enemies.
Nathaniel didn't need to target her like this!
As soon as she sent her message, Sebastian replied in the group chat.
"I won't trade Roxanne for Liana. Nathaniel, if you release Liana now, I'll let the past go."
Taylor panicked. "Trade her, Sebastian! Liana can't take any more of this. He has already hurt her! Roxanne will be fine. Just get Liana back first, and then we can figure out how to rescue Roxanne."
