Roxanne's third IV bag was half-empty when she received a call from Sebastian. Annoyance flickered across her face, but she still answered his call.
"Hello."
"Are you done with your drips?" Sebastian asked, his deep voice echoing from the receiver.
"There's still some left."
Sebastian fell silent. His silence meant that he was going to break his promise, and he wasn't going to pick her up from the hospital. That was Roxanne's first assumption. Anyway, she wasn't in a rush to hear his response.
Sebastian continued to stay silent, so Roxanne lifted her head and started to count the drips from the IV bag in her heart. One drop. Two drops. Three drops—
"Something came up today, and I can't pick you up from the hospital."
A knowing expression appeared on Roxanne's face. She replied in an understanding tone, "That's okay. I can go back by myself."
"Alright, I'll eat dinner with you later tonight."
"I'm afraid I won't be able to swallow down the food if I see your face," Roxanne complained in her heart.
However, she answered, "Okay."
Sebastian fell quiet again, seemingly surprised that Roxanne was being so obedient. He had never been a great conversationalist. Only when it involved work was Sebastian able to speak smoothly and without any hesitation.
When it came to interpersonal relationships, Sebastian was clueless, especially when he was faced with a woman. He always needed her to carry the conversation if he didn't want the mood to turn cold.
Liana loved to act, but Roxanne would no longer act alongside her. However, she wasn't going to let Liana enjoy her happiness. She snapped a photo of True Love's Heart and sent it to her.
"Wow! Look how huge and sparkly this ring is! Who's the one who's jealous and going crazy? I know who it is, but I'm not going to say!"
When Roxanne imagined Liana's defenses being torn down, she grinned. She no longer cared about Sebastian, so it was a joke to her that Liana would try to use him against her.
Meanwhile, Liana cared greatly about Sebastian. She wouldn't be able to withstand it if Roxanne used True Love's Heart against her.
Sebastian was trapped between the two women, and he was destined to hurt the one he cared for more. It used to be Roxanne, but now, it was Liana. The difference between Roxanne and Liana was that Roxanne did not have Liana's perseverance. After all, Liana was even able to ruin her relationship with Sebastian for so many years.
Roxanne only wanted to get as far away from the two lunatics as possible. She was much happier alone!
