Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 406

Josefina rolled her eyes, her voice tinged with frustration. "Remus really thinks he can take over my company? Kale, listen up—whatever goes down, you gotta tell me right away, got it?"

"Yes, Ms. Josefina. My bad this time," Kale replied, feeling a surge of determination. He knew Josefina wouldn't let this slide. When she stepped in, it was like calling in the cavalry.

"Take a breather. I'll let Alex know. We're back at it first thing tomorrow!"

After hanging up, Josefina dialed Alex’s number. He picked up immediately, as if he had been glued to his phone.

"Ms. Josefina! Are you back?" Alex exclaimed, barely containing his excitement.

"How else would I know you've been slacking off, Alex? You've got some nerve keeping me in the dark about all this."

"Oh, Ms. Josefina, you couldn't have picked a better time to come back. You gotta back me up! That Remus is a real piece of work. Thinks he runs the place? Trying to set us on fire from day one!"

Josefina chuckled. "Set a fire? With you sprinting around like an Olympian? Good luck to anyone trying to catch you."

Alex sounded more serious now. "You don't get it, Ms. Josefina. That jerk Remus pushed Kale! No cameras, no proof, but I'd bet my last dollar it was him. Poor Kale, I was the one who called the ambulance!"

Josefina's brow furrowed. Remus dared to mess with her right-hand man? She was ready to give him a taste of his own medicine.

"Be on time tomorrow."

Alex's tone brightened. "I'll stroll in like it's a walk in the park! And hey, I’ll bring breakfast. You still into those breakfast burritos? I found a place that makes them just right. And I'll grab some fresh soy milk. Nothing like the real deal."

"Sounds good."
