"Alex, you alright? Been up all night?"
"Ms. Josefina, I was buzzing with energy and couldn't sleep a wink, so I spent the night sketching," Alex explained.
Josefina picked up the stack of designs. Alex had drawn up a whopping thirty sketches, his creativity was on fire.
"A few need tweaking, but overall, these are solid, Alex. You've really stepped up your game."
Basking in the praise, Alex rubbed his hands together excitedly. "Ms. Josefina, thank you so much! As long as the designs are usable, that's all that matters. Ever since you encouraged me to let my imagination run wild, the ideas just keep flowing."
Josefina smiled warmly, "Fashion design is all about taking risks. If you're always second-guessing yourself, worrying if something will work or not, it stifles your creativity. You'll never create anything great that way."
Noticing that Alex looked a bit under the weather, she added with concern, "Alex, take the day off and get some rest. We're not slammed right now, so you can afford to take a break."
"No need, Ms. Josefina. I'm full of beans right now, not tired at all. I'll head back to my desk and get cracking. Just ping me if you need anything."
Handing over the designs, Alex took them and left the room, practically skipping with joy.
Josefina called after him, "Alex, you'll use Remus's office. Settle in there and focus on your sketches. You're our Head Designer now."
Alex was gobsmacked. "Ms. Josefina, that doesn't seem right. I'm just a newbie. How can I possibly be the Head Designer? Next to your skills, I'm just a rookie."
Josefina couldn't help but laugh at his modesty. "In my company, I don't care about diplomas; I look at what you can do. Those who have the chops get promoted."
Alex bowed deeply with gratitude, "Thank you, Ms. Josefina! Thank you for your guidance and recognition. I'm at your service for life! I'll stay with the company forever, not going anywhere else, just to work for you!"
His words revealed his heartfelt devotion. In his eyes, Josefina was his savior!
Great talents are common, but great patrons are rare.
And Josefina was his great patron.
