Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 463

Josefina's words hit Garrett like a lightning bolt, leaving him momentarily stunned and incredulous.

When Emily met her tragic end, Josefina hadn’t even rejoined the Harrison family, and no one knew she was a Harrison by birth.

By that timeline, it seemed the culprit was someone from their own sprawling family.

That very day, Dorian was out, Calix was off on a film set, leaving only Reid, Garrett, Hattie, and Grandpa Robert at home.

It was precisely because of that tragic event that Grandpa Robert had moved out to the annex, no longer residing in the main house.

Josefina noticed the turmoil in Garrett’s eyes, his demeanor like that of a man pricked by thorns, and she said softly, "Dad, these are just my speculations. Grandma hasn’t yet recalled the crucial details of that night, and we don’t know if she saw something. We can only wait for her memory to return or to uncover the truth ourselves before we can confirm my suspicions."

Garrett looked at Josefina, his heart swelling with pride. Considering Josefina’s analysis and Emily’s own words, Garrett couldn't help but suspect Lena.

Over the years, the Harrisons had provided Lena with a substantial sum. He needed to check just how much money was left in Lena’s accounts.

Garrett picked up his phone and dialed, "I need you to check how much money and assets are under Lena’s name."

Taking a deep breath, Garrett’s expression softened considerably.

He spoke quietly, "Josie, I never imagined our family, the Harrisons, would face such a crisis. If you hadn’t come back, I fear that within a couple of years, we all might have perished."

Josefina, too, was curious and asked with concern, "Dad, if it is Lena, why would she bite the hand that fed her? The Harrison family raised her for eighteen years."

"Oh Josie, it’s as much a mystery to me as it is to you," Garrett replied. "We treated her with nothing but love and openness. For eighteen years, we thought of her as our own flesh and blood. With three sons and one daughter, we cherished her like a treasure and never once did she suffer a slight."
