Chapter 152
Joselyn was sixty–eight years old.

When she was young, she had a short marriage, which ended in less than half a year when her husband cheated.
For over forty years since then, Joselyn had never been with any guy.
She was simply too accomplished, her presence so commanding. Whenever she appeared, she radiated an aura as if she brought her own spotlight. All these years, not a single person dared try to court her.
At her age, not having a suitor wasn’t a big deal. Living alone in her old age was fine.
Besides, Dwight was gravely ill. Once Dwight was gone, she could live with Fiona. That wouldn’t be a bad plan.
“Joselyn!” Fiona’s voice came from behind.
Joselyn turned around.
The morning sun was gentle. Its warm light fell on Fiona’s face, making her features appear somewhat blurred and indistinct.
For a split second, Joselyn felt like she was right back in the old days. Whenever she returned to Bonrea from abroad, she’d always meet Fiona here for coffee.
The person walking against the light was the same as she had been more than ten years ago.
Fiona walked over with a bright smile and stopped right in front of Joselyn. “What? Surprised?”
Joselyn snapped out of it, still wide–eyed in shock. “Stella, h–how did you…”
Fiona sat gracefully across from Joselyn and took a sip of coffee. “I’ve got good news. Dwight’s condition has improved. He’s out of immediate danger.”

Joselyn stared at her in disbelief. “Forget Dwight for now. Spill it–how do you take care of yourself? Seriously, you suddenly look ten years younger. How did you get rid of those wrinkles?”
“A good mood makes those wrinkles vanish on their own,” Fiona replied, grinning. “Joselyn, you age faster because you always take on everything alone. Life throws so much your way and you carry it all yourself, no wonder those worry lines show up.”
Joselyn was left speechless.
Up until today, she’d always thought she was doing a way better job of staying youthful than Fiona, even thinking she looked at least five years younger.
But now, all her confidence vanished. She wondered if she really needed to get a man to stay young.
“Alright, I’ll stop messing with you,” Fiona said. “I took the last wrinkle–removing pill in the world. They say it was made for the royal family hundreds of years ago. I didn’t expect it to work this well.”
“It couldn’t have been the last one, not with how amazing it is!” Joselyn shot back. “Something so good can’t just disappear. I want to buy a wrinkle–removing pill too.”
“Well…” Fiona hesitated. “Someone gifted it to her and told her it was the last one. I’m pretty sure there isn’t another one.”

“Do you think I’d force her to find one if she doesn’t have it?” Joselyn said. “Just ask her where she got it. I’ll pay more and get my hands on that formula.”
Joselyn was seriously obsessed with her looks. She had originally planned to ask Fiona to walk around and shop.
But now she was urging Fiona to find the person who had the wrinkle–removing pill right away. Even if it cost 30 million dollars a pill, she’d pay without hesitation.
Fiona had no choice but to give Marcus a call.
Meanwhile, Marcus had just picked up Edith, and they headed to the mall to shop for presents for her four brothers.
They started shopping for the youngest brother Shaun, who was super into drawing. Edith chose a set of art supplies and bought many books on painting tutorials.
Next was a gift for Joseph. That boy loved playing video games, so Edith planned to pick out a game character figurine–she was sure he’d like it.
Edith and Marcus walked into a toy store together.
The store owner greeted them enthusiastically, “Are you here to buy a toy for your child?”
Marcus nodded. “Boy.”
“How old?” the owner pressed.
“Nine,” Marcus answered.
“Wow, I wouldn’t have guessed,” the shop owner said, his jaw almost dropping. “You two look so young, but your kid’s already nine? Do good–looking people really get married this early these days?”
Marcus’s usually cold face inexplicably turned red.
Unexpectedly, an image of a baby appeared in his mind, a baby girl with eyes like Edith’s and features like his own.
When he realized what he was thinking, his face flushed.
“Well, it’s my little brother,” Edith explained. “He likes playing games. Do you have any game character models or figurines?”
The store owner quickly apologized and led Edith to make her selection. After the gift was chosen, Marcus paid with his
card.
Only then did Edith notice that Marcus’s ears and the back of his neck were red.
The store owner whispered to Edith, “Is that guy courting you? He’s so innocent! I haven’t seen a guy who gets shy this easily in over ten years.”
Marcus heard every single word. His face, which had just started to cool down a bit, instantly turned red again.
Edith was stunned.
She’d always wondered why Marcus kept sticking to her. She suspected his motives and guessed what he really wanted.
Ever since she’d saved Dwight, whenever Marcus turned up again, she just assumed he was doing it to repay her for saving his grandfather’s life.

Chapter 152
But it genuinely never occurred to her that he wanted to pursue her.

Then Edith suddenly remembered all the odd things the Larson family did yesterday. Every one of them had given her a gift, even giving her that family heirloom emerald bracelet.
‘Do they actually think I’m Marcus’s girlfriend?‘ Edith wondered, stunned.
It took her so long to realize the fact.
She glanced at Marcus and saw him walking ahead of her, like he was afraid she’d notice his blushing face.
Now, she thought the shop owner was right about that Marcus was chasing her.
She hadn’t even used the Love charm the System had given her. She wondered why Marcus showed up now.
Edith felt helpless.
Dealing with a jerk like Kelvin didn’t faze her at all.
But when it came to Marcus, that was a whole different story.
She rubbed her temples. Since she didn’t like him, she absolutely couldn’t let him get the wrong idea.
In the past, unaware of his true intentions, they hung out frequently and grew close.
From now on, she needed to keep her distance from him.
Edith followed him out of the store and said in a flat voice, “I picked up gifts for Cedric and Zachary, too. I’ll head back now.”
Marcus had already pulled himself together. “Why not pick out something for yourself while we’re here? Come on, let’s keep shopping.”
“No, thanks. I really need to get going,” Edith replied.
Before she could finish, Marcus’s phone buzzed–it was a call from Fiona.
“Marcus, is Edith with you?” Fiona’s voice came through. “I need to talk to her.”
Marcus covered the phone and looked at Edith. “My mom says she wants to see you. But if you’re still busy, I can turn her down for you.”
Edith nodded, unwilling to turn down a senior. “Then let’s wait here for a bit.”
