Chapter 120 No More Excuses
“Xavier, why are you back so early? Come sit down and cat, Lilian said with a smile.
She turned toward the kitchen. “Bring another set of cutlery, and prepare one more breakfast.”
Xavier’s expression remained calm and unreadable.
He took a seat but didn’t touch his utensils.
Finished
Yvonne sat down next to him, then pressed, “Did you give Becky a good scolding yesterday? And what about her bestie Sharon? You need to get someone to deal with her too.”
Lilian’s hand paused mid–motion, and she looked at her children in confusion.
“What’s going on?”
“Mom.” Yvonne jumped in. “didn’t Becky slap me yesterday? And that so–called best friend of hers kicked me too! Xavier knows all about it–he went to confront Becky for me.”
Lilian looked at Xavier, surprised, “Xavier, you really went?”
Xavier sat with his legs crossed, idly spinning his car keys in one hand.
“Who said I went to scold Becky?”
“You didn’t? Why not?! She hit me, and you’re not on my side?”
“She must’ve hit you because you said something you shouldn’t have.”
“Unbelievable! I’m the one who got hit and you’re blaming me? You’re so biased! In every other family, the daughter’s a treasure and the brother spoils his sister, but you? Ever since Becky came into our lives, you don’t even see me anymore! You’re always defending her! I’m so disappointed in you–1 don’t need a brother like you!”
“If other people’s brothers are better, go ask them to be your brother”
“How can you say that?
Lilian finally cut in, “Xavier, Yvonne’s right. She’s your real sister, You need to prioritize her. Becky is an outsider–you can’t treat her like she matters more than your own blood.”
Xavier lifted his gaze. “To me, Becky isn’t an

The son she raised had been completely snatched away by Becky.

Sharon had a bit too much to drink the night before and overslept. 1 ler phone ringinig woke her.

The voice on the other end hesitated. “It’s me. Sharon, did you forget we’re going on a business trip today?”

Sharon was running late and didn’t have her car–it was still parked outside Becky’s place. So she hailed a cab.
But traffic was a nightmare due to an accident up ahead.

By the time she arrived at the office, Brendon was already waiting outside, face like thunder–as if someone owed him billions.
Dragging her suitcase, Sharon jogged up. “Mr. Brendon, how are we getting to the airport?”
Brendon scowled. “Can you be any less reliable? Do you even know what time it is?”
“There was a traffic jam, Sharon said sheepishly.
“Could you at least come up with a different excuse? Always late, no sense of urgency, no time management–how do people like you even survive in the workplace?”
