Thinking back to Becky’s flushed face as she ran out, Kevin had a strong hunch–something definitely went down in that
office.
Navier lowered his hand. “What is it?”
Kevin held out a folder. “These documents need your review.”
“Give them here.”
Alright
Kevin thought Mr. Bolton seemed unusually gentle today. Almost approachable.
His eyes drifted to the black plastic bag on the desk–it looked like the same one Becky had clutched earlier.
“Mr. Bolton, what’s in here?”
Xavier opened it, revealing the contents inside.
Kevin’s mouth twitched.
Cash
Xavier tied the bag shut and stashed it in the safe.
Becky had sprinted a full two kilometers. Starving, she spotted a taco stand on the roadside, ordered a plate, and didn’t head back to the clinic until she was full
Mr. John noticed something was off with her all afternoon. She kept zoning out with her head resting in her hands.
He called her name a few times, but she didn’t respond.
No idea what happened while she was out, but she came back looking like she’d lost her soul.
He walked over and gave her a nudge.
Becky snapped out of it. “What?”
“Your phone’s ringing
She picked it up. It was Sharon
“Becky”
“Becky, are you okay? I just saw your message. Where are you? Are you safe?”
“It was a misunderstanding I’m fine I’m at the clinic.”
“Thank God I thought something bad happened to you
“How’s your trip Adjusting okay?”
Sharon groaned “Not at all Brendon’s working me to death. That jerk’s treating me like a mule. I’ve been running around all morning like a top–I haven’t even had a bite to eat!
She poured her heart out to Becky
Becky’s heart ached for her “Aww poor baby. Go cat something before you faint.
“Okay, okay I’ll let you go

Wayne returned to Bolt Hotel. One of his men approached.
“Still no sign of the young lady.”
Wayne rubbed his brow and waved him off. “Keep looking”
Since Logan and the boys had all seen someone resembling her in Dracovia, that meant she had to be there. The search radius had narrowed–it was only a matter of time.
The next day, Xavier called Wayne.
“Sorry about the other day. Are you free tonight? I’d like to take you to dinner.”
Wayne replied. “Let’s do it another time. I’m already back in Circovia.”
Xavier paused. “That soon?”
“Yeah. Had something important to handle.
“Alright, next time then.”
“Sure.”
Just before they hung up, Xavier remembered something.
“Mr. Wayne, I heard you’re looking for someone. Is it your sister?”
“Yeah. Still no luck.”
“Is there anything I can help with?”
Wayne had already deployed a full search team. No need to bother Xavier too.
“Thanks, but not for now.
“Alright. If you need anything, just let me know.”
“Appreciate it.”
Back home, the moment Wayne walked through the door, a little boy came charging at him like a missile.
“Daddy
Wayne raised a single finger and pressed it against Hanson’s forehead, keeping him at bay as the kid failed his arms.

“You’re back.” said a gentle female voice.
Wayne walked straight over and pulled her into his arms.
Oriel smiled and hugged him back.
Hanson pouted. “Daddy’s so annoying. He only hugs Mommy, not me.”
Aaron patted his back to soothe him. “It’s okay. I’ll hug you.”
Hanson clung even tighter. “You’re the best.”
Oriel asked, “Any news about Lily”
Wayne shook his head
The atmosphere grew heavy.
Even Aaron, still so young, furrowed his little brow,

Suddenly, a plump woman stormed into Becky’s consultation room and threw her arms around her.
“Ms. Quinn, thank you! Thank you so much! My relative finally got her period!”
Becky was stunned, nearly choked by the hug
“Can you let go so we can talk?”
The woman sheepishly released her. “Sorry, I was just too excited.”
Becky straightened her clothes and blinked in confusion. “Who are you?”
“Ms. Quinn, you don’t remember me? You came to the film set last time to treat me.”
Becky thought for a moment–then it clicked.
Oh right, she’d done that extra gig and earned two hundred bucks.
“Ms. Quinn, you remember now?”
“Yeah”
The woman gripped her hand, eyes glistening with tears. “You saved me! You have no idea how many doctors I went to famous ones, ones with so–called legacies and decades of experience–they all talked big but none of them cured me. Only you, M. Quinn. You’re the real deal!
