Chapter 125 Stranger in the Dark
Becky felt a little embarrassed by all the praise, She rubbed her nose and muttered, “It’s not that big a deal.”
“It is! You deserve to be called a master.”
The producer pulled a red item out of her bag.
“Ms. Quinn. I had this banner custom–made for you. Where should I hang it? 111 do it for you.”
Becky’s lips curled up in delight as she quickly took the banner. “It’s okay. I’ll hang it myself later.”
“Alright, then.”
Fimshed
The producer was always in a rush. After dropping off the banner, she barely said a few words before hurrying off again.
Becky opened it and saw the words printed on the fabric. Her smile twitched. Without a word, she rolled the banner up and stuffed it into the cabinet.
Better not hang that up.
She grabbed her bag and left the clinic–she had a house call to make.
By the time she finished, night had already fallen.
The neighborhood was old, and to reach the main road, she had to pass through a narrow alley.
The alley was pitch dark, and Becky walked quickly, uneasy.
She hadn’t gone far when she suddenly tripped over something and fell flat on her face.
Grimacing, she sat up and turned on her phone’s flashlight–only to see a man lying on the ground.
That’s what she’d tripped over.
He was facedown, bleeding beavily,
Driven by her duty to help others, Becky knelt down and checked his pulse.
Nothing critical–just blood loss and extreme fatigue.
She had to stop the bleeding and clean his wounds.
She remembered seeing a small clinic near the alley entrance.
Putting her phone away, she dragged the man onto her back and used every ounce of strength to hoist him up
He was way too heavy. His legs dragged behind them the whole way
Thankfully the clinic wasn’t far.

The man had only hesitated because he didn’t want anyone dying in his clinic. He wasn’t equipped for that kind of liability
But if she was a doctor and agreed to take responsibility, even better.
He brought her what she needed.
Becky cleaned the head wound first. It wasn’t deep. Once it was clear, she sprinkled on a bit of herbal powder from her bag and bandaged it.
The right leg wound was deeper. It needed stitches.
The doctor grimaced at the sight. “Maybe you really should take him to a hospital.”
“No need.”
Becky got to work stitching. The man was still unconscious, so no anesthesia needed
Even though the original Becky specialized in traditional medicine, she knew how to clean, bandage, and stitch wounds–and she was good at it
When she finished, she even took the time to wipe the blood off his face.
Once clean, Becky smiled. “Not bad looking.
She searched his body and found a phone, but the screen was shattered–no way to make a call.
With no way to contact his family, she’d have to leave him here and hope he woke up on his owIL
She picked up her bag and turned to leave.
The clinic doctor stopped her. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“Home”
“What about your friend?”
“He’s not my friend. I found him on the street.”
The doctor had assumed the injured man was her boyfriend or something. But they weren’t even acquaintances!
And she sull sutched him up like that? Was she nuts? Wasn’t she afraid of the trouble?
“I don’t care. You brought him in. You need to pay and stay until he wakes up.

“Keep looking!”

“He’s definitely in trouble. We need to find him before those bastards do.”
