Chapter 95 Markus
I sit at my desk pretending to do work. I’m bored. After Colton leaves, there’s nothing else to distract us from getting work done. I want to say screw it and take off back towards Uncle Mike’s to spend time with Ama and Rosebud. But as Cal has pointed out, a pack does not run itself. We have been putting off a lot of our responsibilities lately.
I pick up another report when I feel a jolt of panic.
‘Mate!‘ Aziz growls. There is anger and fear in his tone, something I have not heard often.
“Zviad says that something is wrong with Amalie,” Cal tells me as he looks up.
‘Go now!‘ Aziz orders.
“Aziz wants us to go find her,” I say as I am already moving from my desk. The last time he was ordering me to go find her, she was almost dead on her parents‘ basement floor.
Cal nods his head as he is also moving to get up. Whatever is going on, has us all on edge. We are exiting our office when I feel a snap. The kind of snap that only happens when a pack member’s link has been forcibly severed.
Aziz and Zviad let out a howl of anguish at the murder of our pack members.
“Sound the alarm,” I shout as I am running through the pack house. “We’re under attack.”
Cal has already shifted into Zviad. He is running out the front door.
“Michelle!” I shout as I come skidding to a stop outside of the kitchen.
“Whatcha need?” she asks calmly.
“Get the omegas to safety that are in the pack house and then have warriors stand on guard duty here. We will have here, the hospital, and high school be evacuation sites,” I say.
“I know the drill. Go,” she orders me. She then starts shouting orders at the omegas in her charge.
I nod my head in satisfaction. ‘Warriors report to Zviad or myself if needed. Those that cannot fight, get to the pack house or high school. Those that are injured, get to the hospital. Those that have assignments for attacks, get to where you need to be!” I order through the mind link to the entire pack.
I can hear the general consensus of yes sirs and other affirmatives. I let Aziz take control and we shift. Our paws hit the ground running towards the rogues. There is a group of them fighting near the elementary school.

1 catch a glimpse of Vickie and Jimmy as they are tag teaming a rogue. Jimmy goes for one of the back paws as Vickie goes for the jugular. They are ruthless and efficient in their kills.
‘Mate,‘ Aziz growls as he tears through his first rogue.
‘We deal with these rogues first and then go comfort Amalie,‘ I insist as Aziz’s jaws clamp down on a rogue’s neck. We give a violent shake, snapping the rogue’s neck. Aziz spits out the dead rogue with disgust. I can’t focus on Ama’s panic, so I shut it out. We will make it up to her later.
‘Alpha,‘ someone mind links me.
Another rogue comes barreling at me, to try and knock me over. Aziz nimbly dodges and then clamps down on it’s tail. We heave‘ it back towards us and then send it rolling across the ground as
‘She’s not dead, she’s not dead, she’s not dead,‘ I repeat over and over again as Aziz runs. She can’t be dead. We would have felt the snap if she was dead, this was like a light had been turned off.
“Take her and go,” chuckles the one holding our mate. He takes her off his shoulder and passes Ama to his partner. “I’ve been itching for a fight.”
“Let my mate go, now!” Aziz orders, his Alpha order lacing his voice.
The smaller rogue pauses for a second before he is able to shake off our command. He adjusts his

grip on Ama before he is backing away from the soon to be fight.
“Sorry pup, but you’re going to have to do better than that,” the bigger one chuckles. “Been a long time since I’ve had to submit to an Alpha.”
Aziz growls as he crouches lowly. His hackles are raised as he prepares to attack.
“Let’s go pup,” the rogue shouts with glee as he transforms into a large dark gray colored wolf.
We then lunge for each other.
