Kenney nodded. “Mr. Lynch, there’s one more thing. The capital behind Stephen’s new company—it’s connected to the Edwards family.”
In other words, the Edwards family had invested in Stephen’s business.
Tyrone stayed silent.
If the people pulling the strings really belonged to the Edwards family, and now they were openly backing Stephen, were they even bothering to hide their intentions anymore?
…
Italy.
Vincent and Connor were now living, quite conspicuously, at Alicia’s place.
Vincent and Connor actually got along pretty well—they’d been college roommates back in the day.
“Mr. Edwards, are you comfortable here?” Alicia’s tone toward Connor remained distant; she still couldn’t quite figure out where the Edwards family truly stood.
But after spending some time together, Alicia had come to see Pamela as a genuinely kind-hearted girl, free from the usual schemes and pretense.
“I’m very comfortable, thank you. Sorry for any trouble we’ve caused,” Connor replied politely, flashing Alicia a cordial smile.
Vincent glanced at Alicia and quickly chimed in, “I’m doing fine too.”
Alicia ignored him—did she even ask?
What a joke…
If she didn’t need Vincent as a convenient shield to confuse those watching her and buy Tyrone some time, she wouldn’t waste a second on him.
Connor, sensing Vincent’s embarrassment, quickly changed the subject. “So… I’ve noticed Easton and my sister Pamela seem to get along well. They’re about the same age too.”
Alicia glanced out at Easton and Pamela, who were chatting and trimming the garden hedges together.
It was true—they got on well enough.
