Rich Radiant and Over Him (Alicia and Vincent) novel Chapter 486

Italy.

Alicia stepped out of her professor’s office just in time to bump into Chloe.

Chloe shot her a cold huff—her usual air of arrogance—and swept past, arms loaded with documents, disappearing into the office Alicia had just left.

Watching Chloe’s retreating figure, a sly smile flickered across Alicia’s lips.

Alicia had known Chloe was lurking outside, eavesdropping. That was why she’d deliberately told her professor she needed to return home for an important design competition. She was counting on Chloe to run straight to Jade with the news.

The truth was, Alicia realized Reginald’s health was rapidly failing. She had no choice but to go back—the weight of the White family would inevitably fall on her shoulders. This design competition was her chance to make a name for herself in the industry, to take control of White Corporation, and—most importantly—to put Jade and Brandon in their place, crushing them beneath her heel with a decisive show of strength.

Chloe, in all this, was the perfect pawn.

Jade was a woman plagued by self-doubt. She knew all too well that Alicia was a prodigy in architectural design. Afraid her own work wouldn’t measure up, Jade would undoubtedly resort to underhanded tactics.

From around the corner of the hallway, Alicia watched as Chloe sent the professor on an errand, then quickly moved to the professor’s computer.

It was obvious—Chloe was here to help Jade steal Alicia’s design.

But that was just the bait Alicia had set.

She’d already had her professor upload the original design to the official website of the International Architecture Competition, where it was securely sealed.

Before the competition results were announced, Jade wouldn’t be able to find any trace of Alicia’s design online. Which meant Jade would be bold enough to plagiarize her work—just as Alicia intended.

Harboridge City.

Reginald was now a shadow of his former self, so weak he barely resembled the proud patriarch he once was. The doctor had administered one final, powerful injection—just to help the old man hold on until Alicia made it home.

“Alicia… has she come back yet?” Reginald’s voice was frail and raspy.
