Natalie’s tone was ice–cold. “Didn’t I make myself clear last time? I’m not doing business with you. If you don’t have anything else to say, leave now. Patients will be here soon; don’t waste my time.”
“I just came to bring you lunch. Think of it as an apology for what happened before.”
Natalie lifted her gaze. The woman in front of her wore a dazzling smile, but that flash of calculation in her eyes didn’t escape Natalie’s notice. This woman is up to no good.
“I spent a long time making this meal. I do hope you’ll enjoy it…”
Zoey bent down slightly as she spoke, then opened the lunchbox on the table.
Steam billowed out, along with the faint, unmistakable smell of herbal medicine.
“Wait, this isn’t food, it’s medicine. How is that lunch?”
Atlas straightened in his seat, instinctively glancing at the dark liquid inside the container.
Zoey suddenly lifted the lunchbox, a faint smile tugging at her lips. “That’s right. They say doctors can’t treat themselves. This is a special tonic I prepared for her–since she’s been so very sick lately.”
The words had barely left her mouth when Natalie caught the sinister flicker in her expression.

“You’re insane! Bringing boiling hot medicine just to throw it at her? That’s assault with intent to injure. Do you want us to call the cops right now?”
Atlas was livid, his voice rising, but Natalic lifted a hand before he could finish.
He caught her signal, clamped his mouth shut, and stepped back in silence.
“Ms. Zoey, what exactly is your game?” Natalic brushed at the damp sleeve of her coat, her tone calm, almost bored. “You set up my clinic, and I haven’t even settled the score with you; now you come knocking on my door?”
Atlas‘ jaw tightened, fury glinting in his eyes. So she’s the one who sabotaged the clinic.
“I heard you slapped Victoria because of me, is that true?”
Zoey’s gaze darkened, a sharp edge flashing beneath her eyes.
Natalie’s lips curved faintly. So that’s what this is really about.
