Chapter 154 No Turning Back

He was like a ravenous predator, his attack relentless. The position was awkward, and she leaned in, her voice a soft murmur against his car. “Can we go to the bed?”

In response, he swept her into his arms. Her legs wrapped around his waist, and she could feel the hard ridge of his arousal pressing against her. A flush spread across her cheeks, and her heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic bird beating against a cage.

He laid her down on the bed, his hands braced on either side of her. She looked up at him, her eyes dark and inviting. He took her hand and guided it to the buttons of his white shirt.

“Undo them.”

Her face was already burning as she fumbled with the buttons, one by one. Her warm palm made contact with his hard, sculpted abdomen, and his breathing grew ragged. The gentle, hesitant touch seemed to push him over the edge. He lowered his head and captured her lips in another bruising kiss.

As their bodies met, skin against skin, Natalie knew there was no turning back. And she didn’t want to.

She was drunk, and the night became a blur of tangled limbs and shifting locations. The bed, the sofa, the plush rug, even the floor–to–ceiling windows of the balcony, before finally returning to the bathroom where it had all begun.

The last time was in the shower.

“Again?”

His voice was a low, intoxicating growl in her ear. He was gentler now, holding her from behind, his thumb stroking the back of her hand. A jolt of electricity shot through her, and her body trembled. She had lost count of how many times she had felt this tonight.

“Hmm? You don’t want to?” he murmured, his lips brushing against her ear, his teeth nipping gently at the lobe.

She bit her lip, then gave a slight, almost imperceptible nod. “Okay.”

She braced herself against the edge of the tub. He stood behind her. Her fingers gripped the cool porcelain, her knuckles white from the strain. Her mind exploded like a firework, a dizzying ascent into pleasure that ended in a soft, drifting ash.
