Chapter 166 The Eve of Battle
“And that proves nothing?” Jackson asked, his disbelief turning to anger.
Marcus simply let out a low, rough laugh.
“I don’t care what the truth is,” Jackson pressed, his voice tight. “Stay away from her. We’re not divorced yet.”
“You don’t really want this divorce, do you?” Marcus’s voice dropped, a chilling edge to his tone.
The question caught Jackson off guard. He hesitated for a moment before answering. “To be honest, I never thought she would leave me. She’s the one who insisted on it. What was I supposed to do?”
“You should have let her go,” Marcus said, his expression hardening, his entire presence radiating a cold, intimidating aura.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Jackson’s face contorted with suspicion. “You almost sound like you’re hoping we get divorced.”
Marcus stubbed out his cigarette. “It means you don’t deserve her,” he said without looking up. Then he turned and walked down the stairs.
Jackson watched him go, his hands clenching into white–knuckled fists. Don’t deserve her? No one had ever said he didn’t deserve Natalie. And for it to come from his own uncle… a vein throbbed in his temple, his face a mask of cold fury.
It was after eight by the time Natalie got home.
Lucy met her at the door. “Tomorrow is the live broadcast of Victoria’s appraisal show. I’ve arranged everything. All you have to do is come with me.”
“Okay. The taping is in the afternoon, right?”
“That’s right.”
Natalie nodded, a shadow crossing her face.
“Don’t worry,” Lucy said, giving her a reassuring pat on the back. “I took the day off to be there with you. We’re going to watch you take her down. She won’t know what hit her.”
“I’m not worried,” Natalie said, though her voice was thin. “I’ve just waited for this for so long that now that it’s here, it doesn’t feel real.”
“What’s rightfully yours will come back to you,” Lucy said, her smile widening. “And we are more than prepared.”

“You’re not at the clinic?”
