Chapter 31 Stop Touching The Door

Jackson had always known that Natalie practiced medicine; what he didn’t know was the extent

of her skill.

Even though she had devoted herself to work throughout their marriage, whenever families of critically ill patients reached out through connections, she would still make house calls to save their loved ones.

But she always kept those things quiet. No one knew.

Not even Jackson, the man who had shared her bed for years.

Jackson’s right,Victoria said sharply. Even the director and top specialists in the hospital wouldn’t dare try a procedure like this on grandpa without extreme caution. Ms. Foster, you’re incredibly bold. To go ahead without the doctorsapprovalif anything went wrong

As long as I’m here, he’s safe.

Natalie lifted her gaze, her voice dropping low as her eyes locked on Victoria.

Watch that mouth of yours.Jackson’s expression darkened, anger flashing across his face. But I only have one grandfather, and I won’t let you use him to test your skills!

As his words fell, Jackson moved toward the ward.

Natalie raised an arm to block him. Do you not understand what I said, Mr. Jackson? I said don’t go in and disturb Grandpa.”

Move.

Jackson’s eyes burned with fury; his voice rose a notch.

Half an hour,Natalie said firmly, her arm still holding the barrier between them. After thirty minutes, you can do whatever you want; but until then, no one steps into that room.”

The force of her presence stunned them both.

Especially Jackson, whose eyes widened with surprise.

In his memory, Natalie had always been softspoken and gentle; never had she been so strong, so unyielding. But he didn’t trust her medical skills, and there was no way he would simply let her do as she pleased.

Grandpa had just been unresponsive, almost as if he’d fallen unconscious. And who knew what this woman had done to him? Jackson shoved her aside without thinking.

Natalie hadn’t expected him to push so hard; her feet stumbled, and her body pitched sideways.

Just when she thought she was about to hit the floor, a pair of strong hands caught her from

the side.

A familiar, cool scent filled her senses.

A sudden, overwhelming sense of safety washed over her.

That scentit yanked her straight back to the fire. Marcus?

Before she could turn her head, a deep, resonant voice came from above her. Jackson, what do you think you’re doing?

Jackson’s hand froze on the door handle.

At the sound of the voice, he stopped and turned sharply, meeting the cold, penetrating stare of the man standing behind her. Uncle

With Marcussteady support, Natalie regained her footing.

His broad palm slipped away from her arm as she instinctively stepped back, putting distance between them. Only then did she finally see his striking, chiseled face.

Victoria jumped in quickly, her voice carrying a hint of reproach. Mr. Collins, it’s Natalieshe did meridian treatment on grandpa. He seemed to pass out afterward. Jackson wanted to check on him, but Ms. Foster wouldn’t let him.

Her gaze held a glint of irritation as she finished.

Marcuseyes shifted to Natalie. You performed meridian treatment on him?

His voice was cold, edged with a faint trace of disbelief.

Natalie lifted her eyes, her tone steady and precise. Given his condition, meridian therapy is the most suitable approach.”

Jackson stepped closer, his anger flaring again. Grandpa’s condition isn’t even stable
