Shattered Then Healed By His Love (by Haley Blanton) novel Chapter 32

Chapter 32 Trust Me Or Don’t

Marcus didn’t know much about Natalie; he had no idea she practiced medicine.

You really have some nerve!Jackson’s face darkened. Grandpa’s condition is critical; he’s been unconscious for two days straight. Even the specialists here can’t do anything, and yet you dare talk like that?

Jackson’s sharp tone broke through Marcusthoughts.

When he came back to himself, his gaze fell on Natalie’s face.

But Natalie didn’t rush to respond; she stayed silent.

Exactly!Victoria chimed in, her tone edged with reproach. Gabriel’s condition isn’t looking good. Even if you’re confident, you should have at least informed his attending doctor. What if something goes wrong?

Natalie’s voice was calm and steady. Grandpa needs meridian therapy to improve his circulation. He’s older now, and his blood vessels aren’t as strong as they used to be. This therapy can help him recover much faster. Still, you should’ve told the doctor first—

I already said I’m confident I can treat him; that’s why I did it.

Natalie cut Victoria off midsentence.

After all, her own clinic hadn’t opened yet; she had her license, but with Grandpa hospitalized, telling the attending physician would only have led to them refusing her treatment outright.

That was why she kept it to herself.

Natalie, if something happens to grandpa-

Before Jackson could finish, Marcusdeep voice interrupted, calm but firm. Enough. Since Ms. Foster says she’s confident, let’s wait until grandpa’s meridian session is over before we discuss this further.

When Jackson looked up, Marcus had already stepped around him, striding toward the room.

Jackson shot Natalie a sharp, dissatisfied glare. Why was my uncle always taking her side lately? And not just once or twice, but over and over again

Marcus rested his hand on the door, opening it just a sliver to look inside.

1/3

His father was indeed undergoing meridian therapy.

The steady rise and fall of the older man’s chest told him he was only asleep, not unconscious.

Marcus could tell the difference.

After quietly shutting the door again, he turned and fixed his eyes on Natalie. How much longer?

Natalie lowered her gaze, checked her phone, and said, Fifteen minutes.”

Marcus didn’t respond; he simply walked toward the end of the hall, intending to sit down. But just then, Gabriel’s attending doctor arrived.

Mr. Collins, you’re here too?

The doctor spotted Marcus, a polite smile lifting the corners of his lips.

Mm.Marcus gave a slight nod, his voice low.

The moment Jackson saw the doctor, he pulled Victoria down beside him, settling in like he was ready to watch a show.

The doctor was about to step into the room when Natalie suddenly moved forward, blocking the doorway. You can’t go in right now.”

The doctor blinked, thrown off. Miss, I’m Mr. Gabriel’s attending physician. I’m here for my scheduled rounds to assess his condition. Please don’t interfere with my work.”

Gabriel is resting. Come back in fifteen minutes.

Natalie knew all too well the serious consequences of practicing without authorization inside a hospital.

If the doctor found out what she was doing, he’d stop her immediately.
