"Stellan: Alright, I understand."
Sunny finally exhaled, relieved.
As a lawyer, she hated being stood up, so whenever she had to cancel on someone, she made sure to be as polite as possible. Especially when the person she was canceling on was Stellan.
Lily Williams shot Sunny a look of envy. "Wow, Sunny, you're getting another chance to go out and learn from the boss."
Sunny smiled. "Your turn will come, too."
Sunny had earned her place through hard work, and Lily respected that.
She sighed. "Ugh, with my half-baked skills, I'm just grateful the boss hasn't kicked me out of the team yet. This latest copyright case is giving me a headache."
"What copyright case?" Sunny asked.
Lily threw up her hands. "You know who my client wants to sue?"
Sunny raised her brows, curious. "Who?"
"It's the CEO of SkyVault's girlfriend! Now tell me—how am I supposed to win that case?"
Luna?
"The boss said there's a chance, and since the case landed on my desk, I can't exactly pass it off. Guess I'll just have to tough it out."
Now Sunny was interested. She glanced over at Lily's files.
So, it was about an album poster she'd posted—accused of copying someone else's idea.
That's a tough one to win.
"Why do you think the boss gave this case to me?" Lily grumbled.
Sunny remembered that their boss knew about her own history with Tristan.
Jude caught the look and beamed—he knew his flattery had hit the mark!
Today, Stellan was wearing glasses again—the very same pair he'd picked up from Sunny's place yesterday.
Sunny couldn't quite shake the odd feeling that gave her.
Stellan spoke up. "I'll keep this brief. For this merger, I'd like us to handle all communications during work hours as much as possible, and minimize any overtime. That goes for all our partners, too. I don't want our progress to depend on after-hours work. How does everyone feel about that?"
Sunny: ……
Jude immediately jumped in, all enthusiasm. "Mr. Lawson's right! Working during office hours is much more efficient. We have no objections. Attorney Glenn, what about you?"
Wyatt's mouth twitched. This was the first time he'd ever heard such an unusual request.
"We have no objections, of course."
Sunny couldn't help thinking to herself—was it just her, or was Stellan blatantly using his authority for personal reasons?
