Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 334

Camila Davis couldn’t help but laugh, finally shaking off the awkwardness from before.

She grinned and said honestly, “The waitstaff here really know how to read the room!”

Dennis Williams caught her eye, a smile flickering across his face as he agreed, “No kidding!”

Even though there’d been a little mix-up earlier, Camila had to admit—the dessert was surprisingly good. The chocolate lava cake was warm and gooey, just the right amount of sweet, and somehow, it made her feel lighter.

By the end of dinner, Camila walked out of the restaurant holding Lillian’s hand in one and a bouquet of roses in the other, Dennis matching her stride as they left.

What she didn’t notice was the pair of eyes watching them from a corner booth by the window. The man even snapped a picture on his phone.

It was Lucas Smith.

He’d come to the bistro that night with some old friends—sons and daughters from well-known families. He definitely hadn’t expected to run into Camila Davis.

It only took a moment, but it was clear as day: she was awfully close to the man beside her.

Lucas wasted no time sending the photo to his brother. “Told you, Camila Davis is already moving on. Barely divorced, and she’s out with Walter Wilson behind our backs, playing the Smith family, and now she’s bringing Lillian along for a Valentine’s date with some new guy. Bro, you did the right thing kicking her out.”

Meanwhile, Jordan Smith had just wrapped up a business dinner when Sandra Taylor called, her voice impatient.

“Today’s Valentine’s Day, Jordan. I’ve got a candlelit dinner waiting at home. When are you getting back?”

Jordan tugged at his tie, annoyed. The Smith Group was still reeling from losses, and he was swamped every day. Romance was the last thing on his mind.

Sandra’s love of all things romantic used to amuse him—once upon a time, it even lit a spark. Now, it just felt out of place.

Standing outside his front door, Jordan couldn’t help but remember how Camila never made demands while he was busy. She always seemed to know when to give him space…

Then Lucas’s message came in.

As soon as Jordan saw the picture, his mood soured. Even though it was just a side shot, and the guy’s face was out of frame, he could see Camila walking hand-in-hand with Lillian. The man beside them seemed gentle, caring.
