I scheduled this meeting with your assistant and have been waiting over three hours. As a man of business, I’d assume you wouldn’t mind giving me a few minutes of your time? After all, I was here first.”

Walter and Camila had just reached the elevator when Sandra blocked their way. His face said it all—he was not pleased.

“Are you telling me how to do my job?” His tone was cold as ice, his presence almost suffocating.

Sandra felt the pressure, but forced herself to smile. “Not at all, sir. I’m just here in good faith.”

Walter looked bored. “Wilson Holdings is at capacity right now. We’re not looking for new partnerships.”

Sandra’s face was burning. Was this guy for real? She’d even pulled out the big guns by name-dropping The Smith Group, and he still brushed her off!

Was this all for Camila’s sake?

Sandra’s expression darkened. She bit her tongue, but couldn’t hold back. “If you don’t mind me asking, Mr. Wilson—does Ms. Davis now work for your company?”

Camila’s face frosted over instantly, catching the shift in Sandra’s tone.

Walter’s own expression hardened. “That’s not really your business, Ms. Taylor. And I have no obligation to share Wilson Holdings’ hiring details with you.”

Sandra was left speechless, her face stiff.
