Miles followed Mirabella's gaze and was a little taken aback when he spotted the man in the room. "Your fiancé?"
"Yeah." Mirabella shifted her gaze, straightened up, and slowly made her way inside.
Miles raised an eyebrow, trailing behind her.
Once they were in the living room, Mirabella walked up to James, subtly nodding toward Miles. After a brief pause, she casually introduced him, "This is... an online friend."
Miles: "???"
He guessed Mirabella didn't know his name, so she just labeled him as an online friend. It stung his pride a bit.
James stood up, his eyes deep and thoughtful, and gave a slight nod to Miles. "Mr. Miles."
Mirabella glanced at James, eyebrows slightly raised, seemingly surprised that the two were acquainted.
Miles smiled warmly, showing no trace of awkwardness, and said with enthusiasm, "James, great to meet you. If you ever need a hand with anything, just let me know."
With that, he pulled out a business card and handed it to James. Being connected to Mirabella's fiancé naturally meant getting a bit closer.
"Sure thing." James took the card and nodded in agreement.
Right then, someone strode in from outside, heading straight for Miles. His gaze skimmed over Mirabella and James, pausing slightly on James with a nod of recognition. "James."
The newcomer was Toby, who had earlier gone to pick up Dan and the crew.
James looked at Toby, surprised to see him there. Remembering some past events, he suddenly realized why Toby had handed over the Bishop family's underground influence to the Shepherd family. Back then, Toby didn't seem as polished as he appeared—turns out, he was with Miles.
Miles glanced at Toby, not holding back, and asked directly, "What's up?"
"We've identified the person who ambushed the Davis family convoy. It's a woman named Melissa, also associated with the Davis family," Toby reported promptly.
Miles turned to Mirabella, "Do you know her?"
"Not really." Mirabella shrugged. She hadn't been back with the Davis family for long and hadn't had the time to get to know everyone.
"She has a daughter named Penelope, who seems to hold a significant position in the Davis family," Toby added.
