“I finally got out of the hospital, and you’re still getting everyone to isolate me and bully me. You even crashed into me just now. Do you really hate me that much?”
Kayla let out a cold laugh. ‘Marianna’s not just playing the victim here. She’s trying to pin everything on me, she thought.
All that time in the hospital didn’t fix her rotten heart. She’s still just as vicious, Kayla thought.
“Marianna, you’d better not mess with me. Keep this up, and I’ll make sure everything you’re accusing me of actually happens,” Kayla said coldly.
Ever since Marianna publicly threw Hailey under the bus that day, a bunch of students thought she was a total backstabber. And after Marianna apologized to Kayla in front of everyone, the whole school knew they hated
each other.
All those classmates trying to suck up to Kayla–the Sexton family heiress–started giving Marianna the cold shoulder behind the scenes.
Kayla found out about it later, but she didn’t stop it. Marianna kept starting drama with her again and again, so she totally had this coming. Kayla didn’t feel guilty at all.
Honestly, Kayla was happy to watch it all go down.
‘In my last life, Marianna set me up and turned the whole school against me. Every day was hell. Now it’s her turn, and she deserves every bit of it,‘ Kayla thought.
Besides, what Marianna was dealing with now was nothing compared to what Kayla went through before. Marianna was getting off easy.
Marianna bit her lip. “Kayla, even if you look down on me, you bumped into someone. Can’t you at least apologize? You made me say sorry in front of everyone, and I didn’t complain once.
“Now it’s your turn and you can’t even say the words? Is that what they teach you in the Sexton family? Do us regular students not deserve any respect from rich people like you?”
Marianna’s voice trembled with self–pity, like she was the real victim here. But anyone paying attention could tell she was trying to turn the other students against Kayla.
Kayla was about to respond when Davon came hobbling over on his crutch, shoving other students aside. He grabbed Marianna with one hand and pulled her up, then glared at Kayla.
“Kayla, what did you do to Maria this time?” Davon demanded. As he spoke, he shifted his crutch toward Kayla, making sure she noticed it.
Davon had gotten beaten so badly he’d ended up in the hospital. He needed someone to take care of him, and not wanting Miranda to wear herself out, he’d specifically sent her to get Kayla to come look after him.
But Kayla never even showed up. She actually yelled at Miranda and made it clear she couldn’t care less whether he lived or died.
