His lips shook, and his eyes went wide with fear and disbelief.

She folded her arms and stared him down with steady calm.

Maxwell’s knees almost gave out beneath him.

He knew if this video ever got out, Gianna would be finished.

If Amelia pressed charges, she’d be dragged into court without a doubt.

Maxwell’s mind spun. He didn’t want to lose the one thing that kept Amelia tied down, but the fallout of the video terrified him.

She was still his sister–he didn’t want to completely ruin her.

All he wanted was for her to fall in line and occasionally help Gianna shine.

Grinding his teeth, he said, “Amelia, you’re still a Nygard, a woman of status. You shouldn’t run off to work for someone else.

“How about this? We won’t terminate the contract yet. I’ll give you the top resources, let Lina manage you, and you delete the video. Deal?”

He softened his voice, even offering Gianna’s exclusive manager.

In his mind, he was already being generous.

Amelia shot him a mocking look. As if she’d ever believe his empty promises.

Would he really give her resources?

Most likely, she’d still just be shoved behind Gianna.

She already felt disgusted looking at him, and just hearing him calling her name made her stomach turn.

“End the contract, or I’ll release the video. Your choice,” Amelia said flatly, her tone sharp with impatience.

There was nothing else to discuss. No third option.

Sweat gathered on Maxwell’s forehead as he wrestled with himself.

After a long silence, he finally gave in. “Fine. I’ll terminate the contract. But you have to make sure that video never gets out.”

A cold, mocking smile tugged at Amelia’s lips.

Ha! In the end, he still chose Gianna.

“Relax. As long as you keep your word, I won’t release it. But get the termination done fast–1 won’t wait around.”

Maxwell nodded weakly, realizing he had no leverage left.
