“I can totally handle both. I want to follow in Amelia’s footsteps and prove to everyone in the family that if she can do something, I can do it even better.”
Gianna had taken her friend’s words at the restaurant to heart.
No matter what, she was dead set on landing a big–budget, buzzworthy drama that would air around the same time as Amelia’s movie.
I’m gonna attack Amelia from every direction. Let’s see how cocky she’ll be then, how she’ll dare to show off in front of me!
It wasn’t often Gianna would be so determined.
Normally, she just gave way to Amelia, so her stubbornness now really stood out.
Maxwell couldn’t figure out how to say no to her–and honestly, he didn’t want to.
Right then, Marcelo came home, and Maxwell quickly filled him in.
“Marcelo, Amelia’s shooting that garbage movie, and… ”
He ran through what had gone down at the restaurant earlier, then explained Gianna’s sudden desire to act. He didn’t leave out a single detail.
…
Marcelo frowned. “Amelia She’s getting more and more full of herself. She’s probably trying to prove something to us.”
He snorted. “It’s just one movie. Actually, Garth Pauley was at the dinner I went to earlier. He’s about to start a huge new drama based on a popular novel, but he still hasn’t locked in the female lead.”
The hint was obvious, so Marcelo said, “I’ll give him a call and get Gianna the lead role.”
Gianna lit up instantly, thrilled to finally feel seen and supported. She finally stopped feeling jealous or upset.
The drama Garth was planning was adapted from a viral novel with a massive fanbase.
Whoever starred in it would blow up overnight.
The production crew was stacked–Garth, a respected screenwriter who knew how to bring out the best scenes, and an art team putting insane detail into costumes, props, and sets.
With the novel’s built–in fans, the drama was guaranteed to trend once it aired.

And Gianna would get to wear a ton of trendy outfits on set–half of them would probably spark real–life fashion crazes.
Best of all, she believed her drama would totally crush Amelia’s lousy movie, smacking her down in the most satisfying way.
That was Gianna’s real endgame.
“Marcelo, you’re the best! I love you so much!”
Overjoyed, she threw herself into his arms like a spoiled little bird.
Then she remembered Maxwell was right there, so she quickly grabbed his hand and swung it playfully.
“Maxwell, you’re the best too! I love both of you!”
No way am I going to play favorites. My three brothers all belong to me, and they’d better keep circling around me.
Seeing her sweet smile and trusting, doe–like eyes, both Marcelo and Maxwell melted on the
spot.
This was how a little sister is supposed to be–cute, obedient, and charming.
Not like Amelia, who’s cold, stubborn, jealous, and petty.
She can’t blame us for favoring Gianna more!
Garth also happened to be Marcelo’s friend and owed him a favor.
Even though he already had someone in mind for the role, once Marcelo pushed Gianna forward, he couldn’t exactly refuse.
And luckily, Gianna’s innocent, pure look fit the character perfectly. That whole sweet “girl next door” vibe lined up exactly with the novel’s heroine, which would please fans and head off any backlash.
Then there was Gianna’s fanbase, the Nygards‘ heavy investment, and all the promotional push.
This project had hype before the cameras even started rolling.
Garth knew all this buzz would later help at the box office too.
Even if Gianna’s acting wasn’t so great, with so many advantages, the drama couldn’t flop.
