Chapter 123 Heat of the Moment
There was a time when Vincent had actually been taken in by Gianna’s image and the way
carried herself.
He had always thought Amelia was gorgeous, but he found her too cold and stiff–like she didn’t have any warmth in her.
But now? Clearly not true.
she
Her soft, fairy–like look was light and graceful, pure and untouched, like a lotus blooming out of muddy water.
By comparison, Gianna didn’t stand a chance.
Amelia had crushed this round without question.
Gianna was supposed to close out the whole competition, a perk Marcelo had bought her with his connections.
He couldn’t pay off the judges for higher scores, but getting the final slot at least meant the audience’s and judges‘ attention would all be on her.
But right now, she knew it was useless–no matter how dazzling her finale was, there was no way she could beat Amelia.
Not only that, she might not even make the top three.
This outcome blindsided both her and Maxwell.
In her heart, she blamed him.

She figured it was his lack of vision and ability that dragged her down.
He wasn’t even on Rocky’s level, in her opinion!
Of course, she didn’t dare say that out loud.
But if she let this opportunity slip by, all the buzz would belong to Amelia once the show
ended.
That thought made her panic–she couldn’t let that happen.

everything.
Amelia had been dazzling from start to finish, her scores way ahead of the pack.
If Gianna just stood by, the frustration would eat her alive.
Sometimes ideas just spark in the heat of the moment.
As the last contestant, all eyes were already on her.
So when she spun to leave the stage, she suddenly let herself tumble in a dramatic fall.
With that one move, she instantly became the center of attention.
The entire audience froze, then gasped and whispered.
Finished
Gianna stayed on the ground, knees and palms scraped and bleeding, but she ignored them. Instead, she put on a fragile, helpless expression.
She didn’t just quit after that sudden fall, and she didn’t stand around waiting for someone to pick her up either.
Instead, she gritted her teeth, pushed against the ground with her hands, and forced herself back on her feet even though it hurt.
She showed a crazy amount of grit and determination–her leg was messed up, but she still kept limping stubbornly toward the stage.
Her message was obvious: She wanted everyone to see that she had the guts and drive to finish the competition.
The judges immediately stood and hurried over to check on her.
“I really wanted to do well today. I guess I was too nervous and lost my balance. I just hope this mistake doesn’t ruin my overall score.”
Her tone was soft and nervous, carefully crafted to draw sympathy.
Amelia, watching from nearby, saw through it instantly.
Same old tricks–another ploy to steal attention.
What a manipulative faker.
But the audience wasn’t so easily fooled.
