Was that why Amelia wanted to cut ties and stand against them?

She used to be so close to her parents and her three brothers. She was always so careful and thoughtful when it came to them.
Back when they were kids, they would sneak out to play, swipe snacks, and get into trouble together.
When had everything twisted into this–like they were on opposite sides?
“Don’t blame Maxwell. It was me. I froze up the moment I saw Amelia and messed everything up.
“She’s just too good at what she does. She even snatched our backup stylist from the company. I bet she saw his talent ages ago and planned to steal him.”
Gianna caught the look on Maxwell’s face and felt uneasy.
His gaze toward her wasn’t the same. There was something distant in them.
Her guard went up at once.
Maybe she’d said something wrong and made him suspicious.
So, Gianna hurriedly changed the subject, dragging Amelia into the conversation to shift the heat.
Sure enough, everyone’s focus moved right to Amelia.
“Ugh, that rebellious girl again. She truly doesn’t care about family anymore!” Emery complained.
Her daughter used to be sweet and obedient, always considerate and caring. But after she vanished that year and returned, she was completely different.
Now, Amelia clashed with Gianna over everything. She seemed jealous and colder, keeping her feelings locked up.
Unlike Gianna, Amelia never tried to win Emery’s favor.
Naturally, Emery leaned toward Gianna and didn’t even think of it as favoritism.
“I never thought Rocky had such skill and such an eye for fashion. I totally underestimated
him.

“But this is Amelia’s fault. She spotted his potential and hid it from us. Instead, she secretly recruited him!
“Sometimes, I wonder if she’s been scheming step by step just to compete with Marcelo for the heir’s position.”
That was how the Nygards worked. They never looked inward. If something went wrong, it was always someone else’s fault.
“She thinks she can steal the CEO spot from me? What a joke.” Marcelo didn’t take it seriously at all.
“We need to focus on one thing–getting that 30% of the shares back.”
That problem hung over all of them. They believed it was the main reason things with Amelia kept falling apart.
To them, the longer she held onto those shares, the less she thought of them as family.
“Anyway, we should try to get her to move back home and be nicer to her. She reacts more to kindness than pressure.”
Marcelo, the sharpest and most calculating of the three brothers, spoke up.
“Grandma is having us over for dinner this weekend. She’s sure to invite Amelia. We’ll get a chance to hang out and maybe patch things up.
“Honestly, I think it all went bad after her engagement to Vincent got called off. That’s when she truly cut ties with us.”
After thinking for a bit, Marcelo added, “Mom, why don’t you invite Vincent and Diana over to Nygard Estate this weekend? Maybe we can help mend things between Amelia and them.
“If they make peace, she might stop treating us like enemies. She could even agree to hand over the shares.”
Marcelo took it for granted. He assumed Amelia was just acting out because she thought they always favored Gianna.
Maybe she also blamed them for ruining her relationship with Vincent. If they could fix that, maybe she’d finally calm down.
“Good idea. I’ll call Diana later and ask her and Vincent to join us for dinner,” Emery agreed, clearly on board with Marcelo’s plan.
Gianna didn’t say a word, but jealousy was burning her up inside.
