Just then, Patience and Josie arrived as well.

They were completely stunned–has Gianna seriously gone mad enough to try killing someone here?
How could she dare do something like that? Wasn’t she afraid of getting caught?
Sensing what they were thinking, Amelia spoke up, answering for them.
“Because she knows this area isn’t covered by surveillance, so no camera can catch her, and no evidence can ever prove what she did.”
Gianna had been carrying a signal jammer that could interfere with both cameras and recordings, so nothing around could capture her actions during that time.
Even if something did happen and they later checked the footage, they would find nothing. And since she’s the precious daughter of the Nygards, no one would dare question her.
Amelia guessed that Gianna had been terrified after being caught red–handed by her several times before, so this time she came prepared–with a high–grade jammer that made sure no one could record her.
In fact, Amelia had tried to follow and record the scene earlier, but thanks to that jammer, nothing came through.
If it had been a low–end one, Amelia could have cracked it in minutes, but that thing was on a whole other level.
By the time she would have bypassed it, Isabel might have already been fish food.
“Heh,” Amelia sneered, eyes flashing with a cold, knowing glint. “Looks like the person backing Gianna isn’t small–time.”
That jammer was not some toy–it was top–tier tech, restricted to national–level research teams who spent years developing it.
For Gianna’s backer to get their hands on something like that… their reach must be huge.
No wonder Gianna had the guts to pull a stunt like this; she clearly had serious backing.
They used to say Gianna’s mother died young and that her biological father was Raymond’s savior, which was why the Nygards adopted her.
However, that story clearly did not add up.

Chapter 161 Work for Our Company

Amelia had already asked Tyler to quietly run a DNA test for confirmation–and sure enough, Raymond and Gianna were actually father and daughter.
Which means the mysterious woman behind Gianna was very likely her real mother.
That woman’s identity was still unclear, though. They had not found who she worked for yet, but Amelia did know one thing–she had ties to a shady pharmacist organization and to some of the “lab rats” at the research institute.
So why would she still want to cozy up to Raymond and the Nygards?
There was definitely something shady going on there.
“Keep eyes on the woman behind Gianna, but don’t make any sudden moves. We can’t risk alerting her.”
Amelia gave Tyler her orders again, reminding her to move carefully.
They had been too aggressive last time and almost got caught, which made that woman go into hiding.
This time, Amelia planned to play it cool–make her think the trail had gone cold before tightening the net again.
“Gianna’s always been trouble,” Patience said bluntly. “I’ve known her long enough to see what kind of person she is.”
She was all too familiar with girls like her, and seeing Isabel’s situation brought back memories.
She went up to Isabel, grabbed her hand, and said sympathetically, “Ms. Bluefield, I used to date Maxwell, and trust me, Gianna used to constantly badmouth and bully me too. I totally get how you feel.
“Stay away from that kind of guy. A man who always takes his sister’s side? Never worth it. Even if Gianna gets kicked out of her family one day, you’re better off far away from someone like him.”
Patience believed Gianna would eventually expose her true self, and it was just a matter of time. But who knew how long that’d take?
A woman’s youth doesn’t wait, so Isabel had to cut her losses early.
And honestly, Marcelo was not any better. For someone who could treat his own sister like that, he was too calculating–probably the kind of man who would one day betray the woman beside
him too.
