“Don’t worry,” she said firmly. “Gianna’s wedding gifts would be handled properly. Raymond and I will transfer part of our company shares to her as part of it.”
That promise would give Gianna a solid sense of confidence and pride.
Hearing her mother’s words, Gianna was overjoyed.
A rush of excitement filled her chest, and she couldn’t hide the happiness spreading across her face. She was completely lost in her sudden good fortune.
Diana was just as surprised. She hadn’t expected such a good turn of events.
Her son had gotten himself into this mess, and marriage was the only way out. Vincent’s resistance was in vain despite his attempt to put up a fight.
Emery’s offer changed her mind; marrying Gianna didn’t sound so bad anymore.
Sure, Gianna’s shares couldn’t compare to Amelia’s, but the girl was deeply favored in her family. Her wedding gift would surely be generous.
“You’re right,” Diana said at last. “After all, our families have been close for years. It would be wrong to let this incident damage our relationship. I’ll talk to Bentley and see when we can hold the engagement ceremony.”
Vincent was furious at his mother’s sudden change of attitude. He almost walked out right there but knew he couldn’t leave without causing a bigger scene.
He had no choice but to swallow his anger for now.
Once the engagement was tentatively settled, the tension in the room finally eased.
Marcelo then spoke up calmly, already planning their next move. “By the way, Gianna’s movie is coming out soon. I’m confident it’ll be a hit. That would be the perfect time to announce her relationship with Vincent. When her popularity peaks, fans will be more accepting.”
He paused, his tone calculating.
“I’ll hire some PR teams and online promoters to shape the story,” Marcelo said confidently. “We’ll make it look like Vincent and Amelia’s breakup was all her fault. People will believe they were long over and could never get back together.”
Marcelo knew exactly how to package Gianna’s image and wipe away any bad press.

After all, Vincent had once been Amelia’s fiance, and now Gianna had suddenly taken her place, It wouldn’t be surprising if that girl tried to stir up trouble over it.
For all he knew, Amelia still had feelings for Vincent and was just playing hard to get, pretending she didn’t care while waiting for the right moment to make a scene.
Originally, both families had planned for Vincent and Amelia to marry–a typical business alliance between wealthy families.
But no one had expected things to fall apart like this.
To keep Amelia from using the situation against them, Marcelo knew they had to move fast and take control of the story before she did.
“You’re always good to me! You worry about me all the time. You’re my favorite brother, Marcelo!”
Gianna was as sweet as honey, her tone soft and syrupy. Her radiant smile and sugary tone reflected pure satisfaction. It felt like Lady Luck had finally turned her way.
Tonight’s birthday party had gone perfectly. Her biggest goal was achieved. Overjoyed, she grabbed Marcelo’s arm and held it tight, clinging to him sweetly.
Maxwell stood off to the side, watching with a frown.
Something about it didn’t sit right. Hadn’t Gianna told him that he was her favorite brother? When did that change to Marcelo?
For a moment, an odd thought crossed his mind. Did she tell all three of them the same thing in private?
For some reason, that thought left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Emery noticed it too. The way her adopted daughter clung to her son didn’t sit right with her.
She quickly scolded herself for even thinking something so inappropriate and shook her head to push it away.
“Alright, that’s enough.” Emery smiled politely, stepping forward to smooth things over. “Now that you and Vincent are officially engaged, you’ll have to start acting the part. You can’t hang all over your brothers like before.”
Emery moved quietly, her expression calm and composed as she gently separated her daughter’s hand from Vincent’s arm.
In her mind, Gianna was no longer a little girl. She was soon to be married and a public figure

at that.
If anyone saw her clinging too closely to her brother, it could easily spark gossip.

Her sons might not think much about it, but as a mother, Emery noticed everything. She’d learned to be cautious in ways they hadn’t.
